When children lose access to school, where do they go to continue learning?

In Delhi NCR, around 65 children attend tuition classes organized by volunteer teachers from Logos Circle Delhi. They come from migrant families and daily-wage households. Some lost their school places after relocating; others dropped out after Class 5.

Yesterday, we went to Government Junior Secondary School Dabo, Kano, with one mission: HealthyChild, HealthyFuture. ❤️🧼

Through @Logos_network Circle Kano and @DJFL_official we reached 100+ students and teachers with health education in English and Hausa.

📚 Shared ~50 hygiene comic books
🧴 Distributed hand sanitisers, buckets & writing materials
🍪 Shared snacks and supported the school financially
🏥 Connected the school to nearby primary healthcare resources

But what we saw reminded us that children need more than lessons.

Some came to school barefoot. Learning materials and chairs were lacking.

As a medical doctor, it hit differently.

Health isn't just about treating illness. It's also about dignity, nutrition, education and the environment in which children grow.

We couldn't fix everything in one visit, but we showed up, listened, acted and identified more ways to help including working towards providing a first-aid box.

I'm grateful to everyone who made this possible. We have more work to do, and we're committed to doing it.

One child at a time. One school at a time. One community at a time. ❤️

HealthyChild Clubs and trained Student Hygiene Ambassadors will keep promoting these habits in their schools, homes and communities.

For many children in Kano, staying healthy can come down to something as simple as knowing how to wash their hands properly, use a toilet safely, or keep their surroundings clean.

But when hygiene education and basic WASH facilities are lacking, preventable illnesses like diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid can spread quickly, especially during the rainy season.

What do you know about a community that achieves goals together?

Hehe, the same community must also gather together to plan what happens next.

So after months of being outside the discussion room solving winnable issues (Food Provision packages for Students and Hospital outreach ),

Logos Circle #Benin City came together in the discussion room to discuss the winnable issues to solve in the last three months of 2026.

Lots of winnable issues were brought to the table, but in the end, only four were picked.

Still, one had to be taken off, so a poll was run on the WhatsApp community to get both the people who came to the meetup and those who couldn't make it to vote for the top three winnable issues.

In the end, one of them got the fewest votes.

So for October, November, and December, the following are the winnable issues we will be solving:

<> Supporting less-privileged school students in rural areas.

<> Medical check-ups and the provision of hepatitis vaccines.

<> Empowerment sponsorship for a few individuals who wish to acquire a particular skill.

Yesss great things happen when a community comes together.

Together with Mocho+, Hortas Comunitárias and Logos Circle Lisbon, the community is building a garden where residents can grow vegetables and herbs, young people can learn how to grow food, and the community centre can use fresh ingredients in its kitchen.

The goal is $850 in 58 days to help bring the garden to life.
