@mipsytipsy When I had exactly the same jerky and laggy cursor problem but with Magic Trackpad I tried so many solutions: reset SMC, nvrm, reset Bluetooth. But the solution that help was simply turn the trackpad off and on.

@holman Previously they tried to force horrible micro-USB as universal. Which could have prevented any USB C development..
