Spent today debugging why our queue was processing 10k jobs/min but users were still seeing delays.
Turns out: Redis pub/sub was blazing fast but Postgres writes were the bottleneck.
Solution? Batch inserts + RabbitMQ priority queues.
Now handling 50k/min.

@alexcooldev Good point, but here's the flip side: hiring too early killed more startups than hiring too late.
Stripe was just the Collison brothers for months. Instagram was 2 people at 1M users. Early hires add burn rate faster than they add value.
