I quit my job to build in public. Here's my story ๐
Got introduced to the indie dev scene through @thepatwalls and @starter_story. Watching interviews of regular people building cool products from their bedrooms, it felt foreign at first. But something deep down told me this was exactly what I wanted to do.
Watching @marclou with @trust_mrr , @robj3d3 building SuperX, and my senior @anaestheticdev venturing down this path at https://t.co/XTjWJMs5aV, these folks made the journey feel possible and doable.
Something that can be real.
I'm excited to embark on the same path. And I'm building ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

@burkeholland Hey man! Exact same problem.
Building https://t.co/8sel1vjrkf which is giving pretty promising results.
Would you like to try it out? Currently running alpha.
@importgabriel@kentcdodds Building this https://t.co/8sel1vjrkf to solve this exact issue boss.
Would love for you to try it out. Currently in closed alpha.
@kentcdodds Hey @kentcdodds , i had the exact same problem and building
https://t.co/8sel1vjrkf to fix one aspect of it. Idea is to dump raw clips, select a style and get fully edited video out in 3 mins.
Beta launch in 3 days.
Hey @TecEdSocial recently followed you here on X.
Since you create content, I have a question.
I am building EditorOP, an AI based talking head editor where you just dump your raw clips and get a fully edited video out in 3 mins.
https://t.co/G2JJ8jjdRB
Currently in closed alpha, would launch to beta in 3 days. Would you be interested in trying this out ?
Can discuss in DM too.
Honest appreciation post.
@TimRunia is by far the best channel when it comes to learning how to create, edit, design, plan engaging storytelling videos.
Every video that he puts out is golden. Love his content!
Idk if he is active here on @X, but anyone who is into content creation and cinematography, check him out.
A month ago, I just had a broken backend pipeline that could add captions and B-rolls to raw clips.
Today, I almost have a product.
It's far from perfect.
The alpha users have a lottt of feedback, and honestly, that's an amazing thing.
Lot to ship in the next 3 days!
Excited.
Day 27/30
https://t.co/ffvQQSnVej waitlist is live!
My current mental model when it comes to building solo vs building a team / trying for VC money right now at an early stage.
Would love to know people's thoughts on this.
Ngl, feeling the same.
There are 100 things I want to build and market right now, but that's actually a good problem to have.
As a solo founder, constraints force you to focus on the one thing that moves the needle today. If I had unlimited money and people, I'd probably get distracted chasing everything at once.
For example, I'd love to spend all day marketing Editor OP. But if alpha users can't reliably use the product yet, marketing isn't the bottleneck, building a solid product is.
My mental model: when Claude tokens are unlimited, I throw every task at it. When they're about to run out, I only use them on what matters most. Being a solo founder is kind of the same thing.
Curious if you've found a better way to think about it.

Got my first set of paying user ($15) from the US.
They used all 35+5 credits in just ~4 sessions.
Either:
1. The product is addictive
2. Or I accidentally built something people actually need
Still processing this
This signal makes me wanna start regular posting

Hired my first employee for EditorOP. Already unimpressed with my code ๐ถ
4 days to beta launch. The 4 non-negotiables:
โ presets that actually wow
โ payment gateway locked in
โ warm-up email to 100 waitlisters
โ support + feature request system
Excited. Scared. Day 26 of 30. ๐ซก
