lots of small, novel interactions behind this seemingly simple table. excited for people to play around with this soon!

Today, @Henryyinn is joining @naturalpay.
I first met Henry when he was starting @thinkwithmark. When I saw Mark for the first time, I remember thinking: “Wow. This is original, creative, and really well-executed.”
A testament to Henry and his co-founder, @EasonTang23. So you can imagine my surprise when I found out they were still undergrads at USC.
I reached out because at that point I knew I had to meet the two of them. At the time, I was still deep in the idea maze, trying to figure out what I wanted to spend the next decade of my life building (easily the most agitating period of my life). Henry was still building Mark, so we stayed in touch and went our separate directions.
Over a year later, Henry messaged me saying he was in SF and asked if we could meet. He came by the office, and his energy was undeniable. He had this infectious optimism, a genuine curiosity about the world, and a clear desire to be the best.
He stayed for the next few days to do a work trial, which turned into him joining the team for the summer. We’ve rejected every intern request we’ve ever gotten. Henry is the one exception.
I see in him a better, more capable version of myself at 21. And I’m really excited to have him on this journey with us. He’s already taken one massive project end-to-end that’s launching in a couple weeks, and he’s got a lot more on the way.

payments is a scale game where the prize is internalizing the network. $XYZ has been one of my largest positions for 3 years now and while it’s been a rough 3 years, I remain bullish on block’s leadership + product velocity + cultural fluency + closed-loop economics.
hi hi hi network,
doing this again omygosh. i’m still soft-looking for my next dream design role. otherwise, i may leave the US for real lol.
what i’m looking for:
- industry agnostic, but ideally category-defining companies rethinking how people interact with software in the age of ai, not just optimizing existing workflows
- visuals, craft, and interaction design are core to the experience
- a talent-dense team that geeks out about what they do and where design and engineering blur
- room to break patterns and push the boundaries of the product
- based in sf, nyc, or remote
- sponsors visa
incredibly thankful for this community and everyone who reached out after my last post.
Excited to announce @fliptexts’ $1.4M pre-seed, and that we’ve joined @a16z@speedrun!
When @notolegv, @ajiang_xyz and I started building in January, we were stunned at how outdated money apps still are. So we built the finance-expert friend we always wished we had: one that fits you, earns its place, grows into the job, and lives just one text away.
My financial life doesn’t look like anyone else’s. I’ve managed six figures for a school club, spent my formative years trading crypto, and I’m still too shy to ask my roommates to pay me back for WiFi.
Flip starts by automating my monthly roommate bill, checking my wallets before I think to, nudging me to use my Dunkin credit before my Amex benefits expire, making sure my retirement accounts are stable, watching my cloud bills, scanning to see if my Netflix membership is *really* worth it, and finding discounts on late night food delivery.
We're making sure that no matter what your goals are with money: saving more, or making more, Flip is there to help you achieve that.
Couldn’t be more excited to build this with our partners

Today, @emnuelkassie joins @naturalpay as our second designer.
In case you couldn’t tell, I’m a product and design obsessed founder. Especially in financial services, I always like to say that we’ll never be able to “buy” the brand reputation and trust a big bank has earned over a century.
What we can do is earn that trust back through a seemingly never-ending number of small product and design details.
We can’t prove on the surface how well our payments infrastructure or ledgering works. So the product surface area has to prove that we care, and that we take our mission and responsibility seriously.
I first hired Emanuel in 2021, when I was coming out of YC and he was a sophomore in college. I reviewed over 1,600 portfolios and interviewed nearly 100 designers before hiring him. I was looking for someone visually excellent who could also think critically about product.
Emanuel was that rare combination, and knows the importance of design well.
In 2021, I had to convince him to leave school and throw himself into the deep end. It meant a lot that he was open to making that leap then. It means even more that he’s making it again now.
It takes a lot of trust to hand someone your vision and let them bring it to life. I have that trust in Emanuel.
Excited to be reunited for part two of the journey.

if you’re a series a/b startup rn, it is harder than ever to retain talent. every day on the tl your employees see a new startup that's growing revenue like 50x MoM, raised a massive round at favorable terms, hired the best talent.
must push relentlessly fast or you lose.
