Marcelo Bielsa: "What Suárez said about me? I coached Batistuta, Crespo, Aduriz—maybe his name doesn’t ring a bell, but he’s an extraordinary player. And I saw Suárez up close.
One of the things I intentionally asked him was, ‘Do you just shoot at goal?’ And he told me, ‘No, I don’t shoot at goal, I shoot at a specific spot in the goal.’
That answer holds an enormous amount of meaning for anyone who truly understands football. Luis Suárez doesn’t just shoot at goal, he shoots at a specific spot in the goal.
The great centre-forwards always decide where they want the ball to go; they don’t just react to where it ends up. You might ask, ‘What’s the difference?’ It’s a massive one.
The truly great ones tell you, ‘Play it to me here.’ The average ones run to wherever the ball happens to go.
Luis? Every time he gets a pass, he’s analysing if the receiver is in a position to set him up. And if they are, he moves immediately—because he understands something only those with a relentless hunger for scoring do.
Have you noticed how Luis always looks angry? How it seems like he’s frustrated with his teammates? He’s not mad at them. He’s mad because they didn’t play him the ball exactly how he knew it should have been played to put him in position to score."
'I need to start with a confession. Not many things bug me, but if there’s one thing that does, it’s the idea that my story is a football fairy tale.
I know when people say I’m some sort of Cinderella Man that it’s meant as a compliment. I appreciate that, but to be totally honest, it doesn’t feel like one, because it isn’t true.
No magic wands have been waved in my direction, I didn’t win some kind of lottery to land a spot on one of the biggest clubs in the world. The reason why I’m a Liverpool player is the same reason why I’m captain of my country: I’ve worked my bollocks off to get where I am, and by doing that, I’ve been able to make the most of whatever talent I have.
Why does this matter? In truth, it doesn’t matter to me as an individual. It probably doesn’t matter to my family, either. It only matters because there are God knows how many little Andy Robertsons out there. Kids who are struggling to convince people that their talent deserves an opportunity. Kids who just need a break to get to wherever they deserve to be.
Kids who might give up if they start believing that only a fairy tale can save them.
I’ve never wanted to be a poster boy, but if I’m going to be a poster boy for anything, it should be this ― if you don’t give up, and if you carry on believing in yourself when others are doubting you, you can make it. You can show that you are good enough.'

Firmino sacrificed £45,000 by refusing to tap the ball in, letting Mané claim the goal instead.
None of our current forwards would think about doing that.
Unless they drop the ego quickly, our attack will carry on misfiring.
"When it's a player that is not wanted in that club I think it's the total opposite, He doesn't have any power, the club can literally do whatever they want with the player" 💬
Viktor Gyokeres was asked about player power in the transfer market
Liverpool: “Sell us Isak, and we’ll step aside so you can sign Ekitike.”
Newcastle: “No thanks, we’ll keep Isak AND take Ekitike. 2 strikers upfront.”
*Liverpool signs Ekitike and Isak*
Newcastle United:
Liverpool saying to Newcastle if you don’t sell us Isak we will sign Ekitike and then still sign Isak & actually doing it is the biggest power play in prem history
According to official FIFA regulations, when a player passes away:
* The player’s contract is automatically terminated as if it had naturally expired.
* Neither the club nor the player’s representatives are entitled to claim any further financial compensation.
* The club is required to pay all of the player's financial entitlements up to the date of death, and these are paid to the rightful heir (child, spouse, etc.).
What if the player still had an active contract?
* The contract is terminated immediately from the date of death, with all dues paid up to that day.
But why did Liverpool claim that they were the ones who terminated the contract?
* So they could continue paying the player’s wages until the original contract end date, with the payments going to his family.
* The club also committed to covering the full educational expenses of his children for life.
More than just a club.
You’ll never walk alone ❤️
