Since PEGI gave us an 18+ rating for having evil playing cards maybe I should add microtransactions/loot boxes/real gambling to lower that rating to 3+ like EA sports FC
To all those who competed in the 14th PirateSoftware #PirateJam well done! We received 1,407 submissions from the two week jam. https://t.co/8GPe2HgUcq
If you competed I hope you learned something about yourself, the work, or the people around you. You will carry this knowledge with you for the rest of your life. No matter what happens now, you've won.
Now begins the two week judging period. We have a ton of judges and we're diving into this to start hitting as many of your games as possible. We're going to select the top three games as a Grand Prize winner and two Runner-Up winners.
Now for the secret prize.
@AdmiralBahroo, @CohhCarnage, and @PirateSoftware threw $30,000 into a secret prize pool. The winners of this jam will be immediately kickstarted so they can move forward with their new studios and continue to make awesome games. We hope that this lessens the burden of starting a new studio and helps you to breathe easy during that process.
Thank you everyone for participating.
We will be running another Game Jam in July, 2024!
The Legend of Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, has an update to share about the launch timing of the sequel to The Legend of #Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Please take a look.
@GravitonPunch Im all for player coming up with their own designs as it grants them that win when making a discovery, however, if splitting and merging are a vital tool that is reused a lot, that win turns to frustration when having to make 30~ clicks every time instead of 2, unless copy tool?
@ArfhisTheWizard I was just experimenting with jumps the other day for a game jam, my favorite was similar to hollow knight with a grav multiplyer activating when you let go of the jump for a snappy land, similar to your idea at the bottom. The responsiveness is very satisfying.
