കേരള നിയമസഭയിൽ ഇന്ന് കണ്ടത് വെറും ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ വാദപ്രതിവാദമല്ല; ശക്തമായ ദേശീയതയുടെ സ്വരവും അതിന് തക്ക മറുപടിയും ആയിരുന്നു.

വർഷങ്ങളായി കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാരിനെയും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയെയും ആർ.എസ്.എസ്-നെയും ഏകപക്ഷീയമായി വിമർശിച്ച് സഭയിൽ നിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്ന ശൈലി കേരള രാഷ്ട്രീയം കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ഇന്ന് സാഹചര്യം മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു. മറുപടി പറയാൻ കഴിയുന്ന, ചരിത്രവും വസ്തുതകളും കൈവശമുള്ള ബിജെപി അംഗങ്ങൾ നിയമസഭയിലുണ്ട്.

പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയെ വിദേശ നേതാക്കളെ പേടിക്കുന്നയാളെന്ന് വിമർശിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ബി.ബി. ഗോപകുമാർ നൽകിയ മറുപടി സഭയെ മുഴുവൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുവാൻ നിർബന്ധിതമാക്കി. “E.D.യെ കണ്ടാൽ പേടിക്കുന്ന പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവിനെപ്പോലെയല്ല, ലോകത്തിലെ ഏത് രാഷ്ട്രത്തലവന്റെയും മുന്നിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ നിലപാട് തുറന്നുപറയാൻ കരുത്തുള്ള പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയാണ് നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി” എന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മറുപടി രാഷ്ട്രീയ കേരളം ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുകയാണ്.

അതുപോലെ വന്ദേമാതരത്തെ എതിർക്കുന്ന നിലപാടിനും ശക്തമായ മറുപടിയാണ് ബിജെപി അംഗങ്ങൾ നൽകിയത്. ദേശീയ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ ചരിത്രവും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമരത്തിന്റെ യാഥാർഥ്യങ്ങളും ഓർമ്മിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് അവർ സംസാരിച്ചത്.

എണ്ണത്തിൽ മൂന്നുപേർ മാത്രമായിരിക്കാം. പക്ഷേ ശബ്ദത്തിൽ മുപ്പതുപേരുടെ ശക്തിയുണ്ട്. ആശയങ്ങളെ ആശയങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടും വാദങ്ങളെ വസ്തുതകൾ കൊണ്ടും നേരിടാൻ കഴിയുന്ന പ്രതിപക്ഷ സാന്നിധ്യമാണ് ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ സൗന്ദര്യം.

കേരളത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ആദ്യമായി ബിജെപിക്ക് നിയമസഭയിൽ ഔദ്യോഗിക ഓഫീസ് അനുവദിക്കപ്പെട്ട ദിനം കൂടിയായ ഇന്ന്, ദേശീയ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിന്റെ സ്വരം കേരള നിയമസഭയിലും കൂടുതൽ ശക്തമായി മുഴങ്ങിത്തുടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

ജനാധിപത്യത്തിൽ എണ്ണം മാത്രമല്ല പ്രധാനം; ആശയത്തിന്റെ കരുത്തും വാദത്തിന്റെ മൂർച്ചയും അത്ര തന്നെ പ്രധാനമാണ്. 🇮🇳🔥

“ഒരു ജനാധിപത്യ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഒരു സാധാരണ പൗരന് തന്റെ പ്രശ്നം പരിഹരിക്കാൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ നേരിട്ട് കാണേണ്ട സാഹചര്യം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, അത് ഭരണസംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ വിജയമല്ല; താഴെത്തട്ടിലെ സംവിധാനങ്ങളുടെ പരാജയമാണ്.

വില്ലേജ് ഓഫീസ് മുതൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റ് വരെ ഓരോ ഓഫീസും കാര്യക്ഷമമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസിലേക്ക് പരാതികളുടെ പ്രളയം ഉണ്ടാകില്ല. പൊതുജനങ്ങളും പാർട്ടി പ്രവർത്തകരും കൂട്ടത്തോടെ സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റിൽ എത്തുന്നത് ഭരണയന്ത്രത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ തലങ്ങളിൽ വിശ്വാസക്ഷയം സംഭവിച്ചതിന്റെ സൂചനയാണ്.

സിസ്റ്റം ശരിയാക്കാൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി രാവിലെ മുതൽ ഓഫീസിൽ ഇരിക്കേണ്ട അവസ്ഥ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ, അതിനെ വ്യക്തിപരമായ അധ്വാനത്തിന്റെ പ്രശംസയായി മാത്രം കാണാതെ ഭരണസംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ ആരോഗ്യനിലയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഗൗരവമായ മുന്നറിയിപ്പായും കാണണം. സിസ്റ്റം പ്രവർത്തിക്കണം; വ്യക്തികൾക്ക് പകരം സിസ്റ്റത്തിനാണ് ജനങ്ങൾ ആശ്രയിക്കേണ്ടത്.”

ആർത്തവം സ്ത്രീകളുടെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ സ്വാഭാവികവും സ്വകാര്യവും വ്യക്തിപരവുമായ ഒരു ജൈവ പ്രക്രിയയാണ്. അതിനെ രോഗമായോ അശക്തിയായോ കണ്ട് പൊതുവായ പ്രത്യേക അവധിക്ക് അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കുന്നത് സ്ത്രീകളുടെ കഴിവിനെയും ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തെയും കുറച്ചുകാണിക്കുന്നതിനു ഇടയാക്കാം.

ഒരു ജനാധിപത്യ സമൂഹത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീകളുടെ അന്തസ്സും സ്വകാര്യതയും സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടണം. ആർത്തവം സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരങ്ങൾ ഒരു വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനിയുടെയോ സ്ത്രീയുടെയോ സ്വകാര്യ വിഷയമാണ്. അത് പൊതുനയങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രത്യേകം അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ, അവരെ മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽ നിന്ന് വേർതിരിച്ചു കാണിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നത് സൂക്ഷ്മമായി വിലയിരുത്തപ്പെടേണ്ട കാര്യമാണ്.

ആർത്തവം മൂലം ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് അനുഭവിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനികൾക്ക് ആവശ്യമായപ്പോൾ മെഡിക്കൽ അവധിയും വിശ്രമസൗകര്യവും ആരോഗ്യപരമായ പിന്തുണയും ലഭിക്കണം. എന്നാൽ എല്ലാ പെൺകുട്ടികൾക്കും ഒരേ രീതിയിൽ മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തെ അവധി നൽകുന്നത് പ്രശ്നത്തിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ പരിഹാരമല്ല. കാരണം ഓരോ വ്യക്തിയുടെയും ശാരീരിക അവസ്ഥയും ആവശ്യവും വ്യത്യസ്തമാണ്.

സ്ത്രീ ശാക്തീകരണം എന്നത് സ്ത്രീകളെ പ്രത്യേക ഇളവുകളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ വേർതിരിച്ചു നിർത്തുന്നതല്ല. അവർക്ക് മികച്ച വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, സുരക്ഷിതമായ ക്യാമ്പസുകൾ, ശുചിത്വമുള്ള ടോയ്‌ലറ്റുകൾ, ശുദ്ധജലം, സാനിറ്ററി സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ, ആരോഗ്യസേവനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ ശാക്തീകരണം.

ഇന്ന് ലോകമെമ്പാടും സ്ത്രീകൾ ശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യയിലും വൈദ്യശാസ്ത്രത്തിലും സായുധ സേനകളിലും ബഹിരാകാശ ഗവേഷണത്തിലും അതുല്യമായ നേട്ടങ്ങൾ കൈവരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. അവരുടെ സ്വാഭാവിക ജൈവ പ്രക്രിയയെ അസാധാരണ അവസ്ഥയായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്ന സന്ദേശങ്ങൾ സമൂഹത്തിന് നൽകുന്നത് പുരോഗമനപരമായ സമീപനമല്ല.

ആർത്തവത്തെ ഭയത്തോടെയോ ലജ്ജയോടെയോ കാണാതെ, ധൈര്യത്തോടെയും ആത്മാഭിമാനത്തോടെയും സുരക്ഷിതമായും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യാൻ പെൺകുട്ടികളെ പ്രാപ്തരാക്കുകയാണ് നമ്മുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം ആകേണ്ടത്. അവർക്കു വേണ്ടത് പ്രത്യേക മുദ്രകളല്ല; സമത്വവും മാന്യതയും അവസരങ്ങളുമാണ്.

Subject: Request for Strict Action Against Encroachment of Public Roads and Inaction by Local Authorities

Respected Sir,

I wish to bring to your urgent attention the widespread and continuing encroachment of public road properties under the jurisdiction of Corporations, Municipalities, and Panchayats across Kerala.

In many places, private individuals gradually encroach upon road land falling within the approved Right of Way (ROW) by extending compound walls, constructing structures, planting trees, and cultivating vegetation on public property. These encroachments are often carried out slowly over several years, making them difficult for the public to notice immediately. However, the cumulative effect is a significant reduction in road width, obstruction of future road development, traffic congestion, safety hazards, and loss of valuable public assets.

What is even more concerning is that when responsible citizens report such encroachments to local authorities, the concerned officials frequently fail to take prompt and effective action. In some cases, their conduct creates a public perception that the encroachers are being protected rather than prosecuted. Such inaction undermines public confidence in the rule of law and encourages further encroachments on government property.

Public roads and road margins belong to the people and are held in trust by the Government. Failure to protect them amounts to a serious dereliction of duty and causes irreversible loss to future generations.

I therefore request that the Government:

Conduct a statewide survey of road properties and approved ROW limits.
Direct all local bodies to identify and remove encroachments without delay.
Fix responsibility on officials who fail to act on reported encroachments.
Establish a transparent online system for reporting and monitoring encroachment complaints.
Ensure that no political or private influence interferes with the protection of public property.
Take disciplinary action against officials found to be neglecting their statutory duties.

I sincerely hope that your Government will take decisive steps to safeguard public roads and uphold the rule of law.

Menstruation is a natural biological process, not a disability. Granting blanket holidays for all school and college girls solely on the basis of menstruation sends the wrong message and risks reinforcing stereotypes about women’s capabilities.

Menstrual health should be addressed through proper sanitation, access to healthcare, counselling, and flexibility for those who genuinely need rest—not through policies that unnecessarily publicize what is essentially a private and personal matter.

The focus should be on dignity, choice, and equal opportunity, not on treating every girl as unable to participate for several days each month.
