@ljin18 Dot-com bubble burst in early 2000's and loads of technologies have disappeared. Just because some tech movements have succeeded doesn't mean all will.
@TjAllard@gabsmashh Password managers are still a good idea. As long as the data is still encrypted you can move to another password manager (if you feel the need) and regenerate your passwords (& change master password) but nothing has been exposed.
@tom_a_r_johnson@amkherenow@milan_milanovic Agreed. I've written a bit of FP style Java (& Scala) & used well it can be v. useful. TBH I was being a little facetious as a proponent of #Clojure for over 8 years.
@tottinge A couple of months ago a client with a team of 4 engineers who were not fully employed was talking about onboarding hundreds of developers via external partner cos they may have hundreds of thousands of customers in a week (they'd 20 over last 6 months).

There's not being a fan of the Royals (an understandable position), then there's actively celebrating the death of an elderly woman. The second one makes you a very unsavoury person. She was an icon. Undeniably. And as someone who isn’t a royalist, I for one will mourn her loss.

I cannot fathom why Amazon does not do anything meaningful to allow setting e.g. limits on accounts. Why do we need to hear stories like this on repeat?
