Time to wake up and do some homework.

There is a fundamental gap — and a glaring inconsistency — in the way many Fundamentalists analyse markets.

You are the ones who repeatedly tell us:

“The market is forward-looking. Future growth is already discounted into the price.”

Fair enough.

But then look at what happens every single quarter.

If a company reports strong results and the price rises, the explanation is:

«“The market is rewarding the excellent quarterly performance.”»

But if the SAME company delivers spectacular results and the price falls, suddenly the narrative changes:

«“Oh… those results were already BAKED IN.”»

Wait.

What changed?

Until the previous evening, the expectation was that strong results would drive the price higher.

When the price doesn't cooperate with the narrative, the explanation conveniently changes.

Isn't that a double standard?

If the market is genuinely forward-looking, then today's quarterly result cannot consistently be used as the primary explanation for today's price movement.

Because the market was supposedly discounting the future, not merely reacting to the quarter that just ended.

And this leads to the bigger question:

If you don't know what future growth is already baked into the price — and what isn't — how can a hypothetical growth estimate alone tell you what the stock is worth today?

This is precisely where Price becomes important.

Price doesn't need you to predict whether growth will be 15%, 20% or 25% five years from now.

Price is the observable reality.

Growth is a projection.

Value is an estimation.

Price is what the market is actually paying.

Look at China.

China has undergone extraordinary economic, industrial and infrastructural growth over the past two decades.

Yet the Hang Seng Index remains substantially below its 2007 peak.

So economic growth ≠ automatically rising equity prices.

That's the distinction people need to understand.

The economy can grow.
Companies can grow.
Profits can grow.
And an index can still go nowhere — or decline.

Because the market isn't obligated to reward growth simply because growth exists.

So please stop treating “Growth Gyan” as if it automatically explains Price.

First understand what the Price is saying.

Then build your narrative around reality — not the other way around.

Wake up.

Reality wants to have a conversation with you.
