TFW you find out @angi_home (formerly Angie's List) doesn't allow for reviews under 4 or 5 stars... After a 4 month nightmare with a "verified" vendor requiring legal consultation.
Front cover of @nytimes print today. A story about Black voters. A historic case argued by a Black lawyer (among others). A victory for Black rights. And they use a photo of a white man for doing the thing he should've done. ๐ I cannot.
The @NAACP_LDF is using the power of law, narrative, and research to defend Black people in America and fight for racial justice โ๏ธ

๐จ BREAKING ๐จ Federal Court blocks Alabama from enforcing witness & photo ID requirements for high risk people voting by mail on Nov. 3.
Also allows curbside voting in counties that want to offer it.

From our brief, the racist comments of AL legislators who sponsored photo ID law calling Black voters โilliteratesโ & โaboriginesโ &
Latinx Americans โanchor babiesโ & admitting that the law was meant to undermine Alabamaโs โblack power structureโ https://t.co/TdDIs8pNyI

People should not have to risk their lives to vote!! Requiring a witness or copy of a photo ID to vote by mail is intentional voter suppression. Glad the court got it right!
๐จBREAKING๐จ 11th Circuit US Court of Appeals upholds the order blocking Alabama from enforcing the witness & photo ID requirements for absentee voters from in Jefferson, Lee & Mobile counties for July election! https://t.co/ZwrUy57Kh2
This was how I spent my daughter's naptime today. We try hard to buy books and toys with characters that look like us, but when that's not possible a brown marker will have to do. #RepresentationMatters
Exactly! Gee thanks for making light of the fact that this country has been so atrocious to black people that we have to literally choose between a rock and a hard place time and time and time again. Not a joke.
As the CDC admits "institutional racism" is the core reason that Black people in Alabama & the US are dying at alarming rates from COVID-19. We deserve better. LDF is litigating to protect the lives of Black people in Mobile AL and elsewhere

Today @NAACP_LDF is fighting in three states to protect Black voters & others amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Constitution does not allow states to force voters to choose between their health & their vote.

Social distancing is the new broken windows, stop & frisk & every other racist targeted police practice-amplified by the #pandemic. COVID-19 is threat enough to Blk communities. @NYPDShea & @NYCMayor must remove @NYPD from this task. They are wholly unfit. https://t.co/TFHJVDpLBx
