Yesterday, I lost a friend.

Sixteen or seventeen years ago, when we were just kids, we met two or three times a week at his father’s gym (Majid Zatparvar). He guided me, encouraged me, and helped shape my path in sport. Years later, he became a world champion—always humble, grounded, and deeply human. Many of Rasht’s most respected athletes trained with him and grew under his guidance.
Shame on the Islamic Republic for violently cutting short lives so full of worth, talent, and promise.
