Today, a ticket checker at the Jaslok Hospital bus stop found my Bluetooth device. When I approached him to collect it, he demanded that I pay a fine. I requested him to show me the rule or legal provision under which such a fine was payable. He refused to cite any rule or explain the legal basis.

He then stated that the device would be deposited at the Mumbai Central Depot. He further remarked that he would return it only if I said “please.” I declined and instead asked for his name and badge number so that I could collect the device from the depot. He refused to disclose either. As a result, I took his photograph for identification, following which he asked another ticket checker to call 101.

At present, my Bluetooth device remains with him.

The following questions deserve clarification:

1) Is the ticket checker aware that 101 is the Fire Emergency Service?
2) Why did the ticket checker refuse to disclose his name and badge number when requested by a citizen?
3) Under which BEST rule or legal provision is a fine payable to reclaim lost property?
4) Why was the ticket checker not displaying his name, badge number, or visible BEST identification on his uniform?
5) How is a citizen expected to verify that he is an authorised ticket checker?

@MSEDCL everyday @Adani_Elec_Mum repeatedly disrupts the single-phase electricity supply at Chimbai Road, Bandra (W). Technicians only change the circuit temporarily and the reason given is incorrect. Kindly take strict action and also treat this as a formal complaint.
