मुख्यमंत्री श्रीमती रेखा गुप्ता ने आज कैबिनेट मंत्रियों एवं वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ एक उच्चस्तरीय बैठक की।

बैठक में मालवीय नगर जैसी दुखद घटना की पुनरावृत्ति रोकने तथा पूरे शहर में अनधिकृत निर्माणों, अवैध संचालन और अग्नि सुरक्षा मानकों के उल्लंघन पर सख्त कार्रवाई के निर्देश दिए गए।

दिल्ली में किसी भी अनाधिकृत निर्माण के लिए जिम्मेदार पाए जाने पर भवन मालिक, संबंधित अधिकारी अथवा अन्य किसी भी दोषी व्यक्ति के विरुद्ध कठोर कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। किसी भी स्तर पर लापरवाही स्वीकार नहीं की जाएगी।

मुख्यमंत्री ने 5 जून को दिल्ली सचिवालय में उच्चस्तरीय बैठक बुलाई है जिसमें दिल्ली पुलिस, राजस्व विभाग, दिल्ली नगर निगम, नई दिल्ली नगर पालिका परिषद, डीडीए, अग्निशमन विभाग, दिल्ली जल बोर्ड तथा अन्य संबंधित विभागों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को उपस्थित रहने के आदेश दिए गए हैं।

#MalviyaNagarFire जैसी घटनाएँ केवल दुर्घटनाएँ नहीं, बल्कि शहरी प्रशासन की विफलता का परिणाम हैं।
जब तक नगर निगमों और नगरपालिकाओं में पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और प्रभावी निगरानी नहीं होगी, ऐसी त्रासदियाँ होती रहेंगी। दिल्ली में अवैध निर्माण, अतिक्रमण और नियमों की अनदेखी आम बात बन चुकी है। अनेक भवन बिना आवश्यक सुरक्षा स्वीकृतियों के संचालित हो रहे हैं और कार्रवाई अक्सर किसी हादसे के बाद ही होती है।
समस्या किसी एक भवन या प्रतिष्ठान की नहीं, बल्कि पूरे तंत्र की है। अनुमतियों, निरीक्षणों और प्रवर्तन की प्रक्रिया को पूरी तरह डिजिटल और सार्वजनिक बनाया जाना चाहिए, ताकि भ्रष्टाचार और मनमानी पर रोक लगे।
भारत में कानूनों की कमी नहीं है, कमी है जवाबदेही की। जब तक जिम्मेदारी तय नहीं होगी और उल्लंघनों पर कठोर कार्रवाई नहीं होगी, तब तक निर्दोष लोगों की जान ऐसे टाले जा सकने वाले हादसों में जाती रहेगी।

This morning, I was reading Chapter 15 of the Bhagavad Gita. One thought stayed with me. “Have courage. Stay humble. Do your duty without attachment.” Life tested this.

Some years ago, Shri Jaiprakash Gaur, who built Jaypee Group, came to meet me in London. He had built an empire over his lifetime with hard work and vision. He reached out more than once. He wrote to me. His only wish was simple that what he had built should go into safe hands and be taken forward with the right intent. He even wrote me letters in Hindi, in his own words, expressing his trust. At that time, we could not proceed.

Recently, the asset went into a public auction by CoC in the IBC process. Many strong bidders participated. Suddenly, the sentiment and wishes of Jaiprakash Gaur ji came rushing back to me. One by one, everyone dropped out of the bidding. Finally, we were declared the highest bidder publicly.

It was a transparent process. We were informed in writing that we had won. But life is never so simple. After some days, the decision was changed. Don’t want to go into the details. That is for the right forum. But I want to share something from my heart.

We have no attachment to this asset. If it comes, it is God’s grace. If it goes, that is also his wish. But one thing we believe strongly. When something is promised in dharma, it should not be taken back. In our scriptures also, we see this again and again. Truth, commitment, and fairness are above everything.

So, what should one do? Gita gives a simple answer - do your duty, with courage, but without anger or attachment. That is what we will do. We will place the facts in the right way. We will follow the right path.

Saurabh Pandey, the deceased's husband, says," Last night around 10 pm, when my wife and I were preparing to go to sleep, the power in our house went out. Upon checking, I found that there was power in the gallery area and some people had gathered on the ground floor. We also saw a penthouse owner standing there. When I asked the penthouse owner if anyone had purposely switched off the power supply to my house, he answered in the affirmative. On this, I argued with him. Suddenly, this penthouse owner rang his son and asked him to bring their car. As soon as he came, he started hurling abuses at us. Suddenly, this man drove his car at a speed of 60-70kmph inside the premises of our housing colony. He first hit a maid and then he hit my wife with his speeding car. As a result of the impact of the hit from the car, my wife's body flew and hit a wall, and she suffered a brain haemorrhage, which led to her death. There is CCTV footage of the incident. The penthouse owner is someone called Mr Chaudhary; we suspect he runs a housing rental service in his penthouse here."
