This provision would have concentrated immense power in the hands of a few, without proper safeguards. I stood firm for transparency, accountability, and the rule of law — and today we’ve secured real protections: public consultation, parliamentary oversight, clear limits on ministerial authority, and full transparency for Canadians.

My neighbors were having a New Year's Eve party last night

It was well past 10pm and the music was clearly audible through our wall

"Interesting" I mumbled to myself, and immediately pulled out my decibel meter

79 decibels, while the legal limit past 10pm is 50

I glanced over at my wife

She was sitting on the couch in her full glam NYE outfit, staring at me with disgust

"What?" I asked

"I was hoping we will go out tonight"

"The EU forbids non-essential gatherings to reduce carbon footprint, you know that" I calmly explained

She stood up and left the room without saying a word

A moment later, I looked over at the window and saw my wife entering the neighbor's apartment

She kissed the neighbor on the lips (he is Swiss and my wife always says "that's how they greet in Switzerland")

Something far more important got my attention though

I counted the heads through the window

"Irresponsible animals" I said to myself

Instead of filing a noise complaint, I called the fire department

They arrived in 10 minutes and made everyone leave

I saw my wife and Jürgen standing on the sidewalk, waiting for a taxi together

"God, I hope it's a real taxi and not an Uber" I thought

I spent the rest of the night alone, realizing that I saved 11 lives from an overcrowded apartment fire

It feels so good to enter 2026 as a model European citizen

Mark Miller doesn’t address the facts. He doesn’t explain the money. He doesn’t account for the secrecy. Instead, he pivots; straight to outrage, straight to moral scolding, straight to the accusation that criticism itself is the problem

This is what being allergic to accountability looks like

Amira Elghawaby wasn’t criticized for who she is. She was criticized for what she did, (quietly directing taxpayer money to ideologically aligned research), and then denying it publicly, and then getting caught by Access to Information records

And Mark Miller knows it

But instead of answering for that, he wraps her in the usual Liberal insulation, words like “harm,” “abuse,” and “hate,” carefully deployed to shut down scrutiny and delegitimize anyone asking uncomfortable questions

These two excel at exactly one thing: propaganda
