So in the last 24h they announced they want us to buy:
-Top ups for 'gratitude points' for the multi
-Top ups for MC's outfits for the multi
-Top ups for the LI solo outfits from last year
-Top ups for new glasses
-New hair for the LI's
-New cards in the multi

-Everything else was added to the lunar shop, which means accumulating enough duplicates of 5-star cards to be able to spend on the new items (which is $$$).

-They switched Caleb's MS branch card from purple to red, so newer Caleb mains now have to pull on the multi banner in order to get a purple card that should've been free.

-Chocolate shop is gathering dust. They cancelled Valko & now refuse to acknowledge anything related to chocolate lmao. Not to mention the promise is still available for purchase.

The boycott's working. They're trying their hardest to scrape together every last penny they can before the end of the quarter.

I can't lie, I'm just laughing at their blatant desperation. LADS was always predatory, but even for them this is a bit much

The multi may be a low for the boycott's morale, but PPG are clearly at their own low rn too. The whole house is suffering.

It might be redundant at this point, but here is my take on it.

One of CN tags translates to "Papergames has brought disgrace to the nation", and I think that one in particular is the best illustration of why pushing such tags is unwise.

Valko wasn't simply cancelled because of the tantrums of the CDG. He was cancelled because the company as a whole was being perceived by the general public as anti-China, putting them in direct opposition to the government that is supporting them. The government isn't going to continue to support a company that is seen as a bad representative for China. They will shut it down instead so that company will not continue to tarnish China's image abroad.

The notion that the company ruins CN gaming abroad in general makes them a liability for China. I get that the thought behind such tags is to put pressure on PPG to reverse Valko's cancellation. However, I don't see it playing out that way. PPG is far too incompetent when it comes to managing poor public opinion. And I don't think the government would let them continue to drag the nation's reputation through the mud again either. Power and stability are their top priorities. They would simply pull the plug.

Of course, Valko needs a home to come back to. They need to be in good national standing for that, not at odds with the government. LaDS needs to be seen as a legitimate cultural export again, a good representative for China rather than a bad one. We can't get the product (Valko) if the company is perceived as bad for China. Instead, it should be: "PPG, a positive ambassador for China, has a product that global wants, which is Valko. Ergo, Valko is good for China." They have to be in good national standing. If they're not, then all of their content will be viewed by the public as potentially problematic, including Valko.

I'm not defending PPG. Their handling of this has been atrocious to say the least. But turning this into yet another scandal again seems risky and unnecessary to me. All it does is create more fires for PPG to put out before they can even think about bringing Valko back. At best, I think it will prolong the process and at worst I think it could ruin his chance of ever coming back if things spiral out of control again.

Infold/PPG has ruined their reputation all on their own. And, as much as I hate to acknowledge it, they probably still have more cleaning up to do before they can bring back Valko safely. I do not trust them at all to navigate through another crisis without them blowing it up in their own face again. They cannot be counted on to do the sensible thing.

I think it would be best to let things play out organically, for the tanking revenue, demands from investors, and their position as a global export to finally force their hand. I still think their position as a cultural export, tenuous as it is, is still the strongest point in our favor. We should use it as leverage. If we keep putting the pressure on them, then sooner or later they will have to bring back Valko if they want to maintain their status as a cultural export and keep their game running with the same success that it once had. I don't think we should be pushing anything that could put that position in jeopardy when it is the thing that is most likely to help us get Valko back.

We can, and should, continue to pressure them, hold them accountable, and demand Valko back. But tearing down the company is what the CDG did to get Valko cancelled in the first place. Personally, I don't want anything to do with that.

So, my position is the same. You are free to use whatever tags you want on your own account. I just ask that you do not bring them to mine.

I know tensions are high, yesterday some of us didn't know if we should laugh or cry when both were acceptable reactions.

Today I've heard they've deleted and reposted posts, probably because it's not getting the reactions they want, I've also seen there is even more things to buy which can only indicate how much the low revenue is affecting them especially at the end of the quarter.

I'm not going to hate on the banner, but I stick by what I said, did they really think a spicy multi banner would work as a band aid?
It really feels like this is a make or break, even with profits spiking they just drop back down and they are at an all time low.

This to me is reason enough to keep going, to get our point across that the game without Valko isn't an option for us or for them. Logically speaking the very fans that supported them are either going to keep boycotting or turn the backs on the game completely which is heartbreaking 💔 but it feels like that's the point people are at.

Whatever you choose, there's no judgement, make your choice on what you need to do. I'll be here boycotting until Valko is in the cafe, I can't go back to an unfinished game when I know what it should have been or a company that isn't listening.
