The Zero-Cost Guide to Getting Your TIN
If you want to open a corporate bank account, apply for a government loan, or simply stay compliant, you need a Tax Identification Number (TIN).
Many agents will ask you to pay between ₦5,000 and ₦15,000 for this service. Do not pay. It is officially free.
Here is the step-by-step guide to doing it yourself from your phone or laptop.
@NELFUND Hi Team Nelfund, I forgot to apply for upkeep which I request if there's a way I could apply for it separately since I already applied for institutional loan. Thank you.
@Kynsofficial Are you aware that the islamic school also have stages like nursery, primary, and secondary? So the level you stopped attending defines your level of knowledge. Maybe if you've gone deep into learning and seeking the knowledge you'd have understood the language better.

If you’re in Africa and you plan to get your startup into
@ycombinator, @Techstars or any top accelerator next year, here’s what I’ll advice you to do :
[ You can bookmark to read later, there’s no point retweeting and liking if you won’t read so no need for those ]
1. If you just start planning to apply when application is out, chances are you’re already too late. Start planning now…. If they require you to create an account, create it now…. You’re not too early, they sometimes fund at ideation stage actually.
2. Research and see the kind of industry they fund, some accelerators have a specific funds for AI, web3 etc, apply directly to those funds, and some don’t fund AI, web3, NFTs etc at all or very low. Make your research. There’s also the one of regions also, pick the one closet to you. Techstars has around 54 regions/setups and they run 2 cycles each year, something similar to YC too.
3. Start running your startup like na actual company, and not just on vibes and free style…Proper accounting, get a lawyer (@tobiBowal, @LawyardOrg , @KatwignDale , @VaziLegal
etc) Create your structure and specifically tell your lawyer what you’re planning towards and let them advice you on how to structure.
4. Fundraising is hard, so I won’t even talk about that, but I’ll advise you stay in beta and acquire as many useful paying users as possible. Chase profitability from the beginning. You don’t have money to burn and you don’t want to show that you have the potential to burn money…
5. Referrals. Referrals.. it’s very important…. Get other founders who have passed through this accelerators already to checkout what you’re building (especially if you both have complementary services), a lot of the times, I’ve gotten emails, calls and WhatsApp messages from top an accelerators asking me about startups that listed me/my company and it could be as simple as giving a review about their product or about the founders personally.
6. Get a couple of great potential investors but don’t rush them into investing or try to force them or create FOMO.. just tell them you’ll like to send a monthly report on your company to them and that you’ll make sure it doesn’t take more than 10 minutes of their time monthly ( 3 minutes to read, and 5 minutes to send you a reply and advice).
7. Get a Co-founder.
HOW TO LAND YOUR FIRST WHALES CLIENT THIS WEEK
If you are hoping for a complicated, jazzy, “cutting edge” formula for attracting high ticket clients in the next 7 days
I’m afraid you’ll be sorely disappointed with what you’re about to read.
Because it is simple. Simple to do. A 4-year old babe can do this
This simple formula for client getting requires zero cost. You don’t need a website or Facebook page or a portfolio.
If you can copy and paste a few emails, you could potentially get clients using this method. But don’t be turned off by its simplicity. It’s just 3 steps. Like most things in life, it works because it is simple.
Lastly, I must warn you of what is guaranteed to happen when you finish reading this short report. There will be a moment of excitement where you say, “I can totally do this!” (which you can).
Following that your mind will start looking for reasons not to do it. Specifically, fear will attempt to take hold of you and give you 100 reasons why this won’t work for you in particular.
Here’s a tip:
If you want the results, you have to take actions. Therefore, the answer to the fear and excuses isn’t to look for some other bright and shiny object
Step 1.
Write down a list of everyone you know. Everyone you can remember right now. Your friends. Colleagues. Class mates. Those you meet in the mosque or church. Acquaintances. Neighbors. Freelance clients (past and present).Every damn person you know. Write them in a notepad.
The more you list, the more likely you are to win this thing (and trust me, this is a game you want to win).
Step 2. Email, call, text, or send via whatsapp the following message (edit it to reflect your skills or what you offer):
Dear [NAME],
[INSERT PLEASANTRIES HERE]
You may or may not know this about me, but I'm trying to start a new Freelancing business. I help people [INSERT WHAT YOU HELP PEOPLE DO].
I was wondering if you know of ANYONE who I might be able to talk to about helping [INSERT WHAT YOU HELP PEOPLE DO].
I'm trying to get a bunch of success stories under my belt as soon as possible, so if you know anyone who would like to be one of my success stories I'd be grateful for your help
Thanks,
[YOUR NAME]
If you are an experienced freelancer, send this:
Dear [NAME],
[INSERT PLEASANTRIES HERE]
I've been issued a strong challenge from this online community I'm a part of to grow my Freelancing business. I was wondering if you know of ANYONE who I might be able to talk to about helping [INSERT
WHAT YOU HELP PEOPLE DO].
I'm trying to get a bunch success stories under my belt as soon as possible so I can win this really cool prize, so if you know anyone who would like to be one of my success stories I'd be grateful for your help!
Thanks,
[YOUR NAME]
Step 3. When people start contacting you, help them and turn them into clients.
This is the key.
Notice that I didn’t say:
“When people start contacting you, sell them something.”
Nope.
The first step is to help.
Here’s how:
When they email you and say, “Actually, yes! I do need some help. When can we talk?”
You say, “Whenever is best for you. I’m just excited to have a chance to see how I might be able to help you.”
On the call, or in back and forth emails, or via through text, remember this:
Your job isn’t to sell right now
Your job is to help them.
Ask them questions. Offer to help for FREE
Get them talking about themselves, about what is bothering them. Offer solutions without ulterior motive. When it’s time, you’ll know it.
They’ll say, “Can you help me with this?”
And you’ll say, "I can do this.”
That's it.
That’s the whole process.
Do this every day for the next 5 days.
Try and email everyone on your list on day 1.
Why?
Because by day two you’ll have another full list of people your original list thinks you should contact.
Make new lists of people every day. Send new messages.
Every single day for the next 7 days.
It’s that simple.
an abandoned sunnah when traveling:
it is sunnah to observe two raka'ah before you leave the house for a journey and two raka'ah when you return. it will protect you from harm while you're away inshā Allāh.
