@Tiare_MP Chch central is a strong labour seat lmao good luck to him I get he has strong business connections in chch but maybe Selwyn or Ilam would be a better shout for him
@aniobrien We’ve been calling for it for 2 years, doubt they have the guts to pull the pin. He is quite tone deaf and doubt he will resign, unless some “CEO” role is waiting for him. NZ will kick him out on 7 November.
Winston normally doesn’t respond to these sorts of general media queries, he was quite defensive today, his advisors and he himself knows Vanushi is the real deal! #nzpol
@cjsbishop I agree with all of this apart from the ending anti social tenancies, where will they go. Unlikely to get a private rental so would have to rely on emergency housing or be homeless, we need some better measures there. Apart from that it’s common sense. Good work from the minister
@dpfdpf@Economissive@henrycooke It absolutely is political and I have done that role. Political risk and protecting the Minister is a part of that role in a Ministers office as they are employed by Ministerial Services not seconded from an agency.
@BenThomasNZ@AotearoaSam This is not true at all. The SPS and Exec Support are political staff and have to run a risk assessment all of the time. I’ve been in that role so am speaking from experience. I would’ve sent any such emails directly to the Minister’s private email.
@ClintVSmith This is exactly what I’m saying too. I’ve worked in that role and used to read the emails first. If those sorts of emails came through I would have bypassed the usual processes and gone straight to the Minister. Not sure what the exec support is doing in Minister Mitchell office
@actparty Not at all absolutely wrong. The rent plus a contribution from the owner pays for the mortgage eg the purchase price. The capital gain is not part of the purchase price. The mortgage does not go up each year it goes down bit by bit. The ACT party has got it completely wrong here.
