They all have a role to play in building the Nairobi drainage
Let them be Held accountable
A Kenyan boy named Miringa is building a “People’s IEBC” that Kenyans will use to verify and tally the 2027 presidential votes. Its sole purpose will be verification, ensuring no one can manipulate the numbers!
@KenyaPower_Care For 3 days, we've been without power, and despite repeated calls and logging the issue, we've had no proactive communication from KPLC. It's frustrating to receive a generic 'Happy Customer Service Week' text in the midst of this outage. Ref:13714389.

The UK Visa Application Centre (VFS Global) in Westlands, Nairobi, is a masterclass in modern day exploitation.
Kenyans pay hundreds of dollars, wait in the sun, get misinformed, and walk away feeling less human. The new venue at Principal Place (yes, they left 9West) has no proper waiting area and no parking. This is by design to have you pay 17K for their VIP/Premium “services “
If you’re not paying for premium services, you’re left outside in the heat, on the pavement. Elderly people, parents with kids, students, all treated like a security threat
Their Communication is Trash. You get vague emails like “your passport is ready for collection ” only to be turned away and told “collection is from 2pm to 5pm, (you can easily indicate that on the same damn email) That means if you show up at 10am, you’ll have to wait till 2pm or you can easily pay the 17K to be attended to quickly.. ?? EXPLOITATION
No clear timeline. No courtesy. You’re meant to guess your way through it.
These centers aren’t run by embassies, they’re outsourced to private companies who monetize your desperation. It’s a business, not a service.
And guess what? No refund if your visa is denied(familiar?)
The worst part? This is normalized.
We’ve accepted that applying for a visa means surrendering your dignity just to maybe be allowed into a country that benefits from our labor, money, and talent.
If Global North countries want to charge Africans these high fees and accord them zero dignity , the bare minimum should be basic human respect. Decent waiting areas. Transparent timelines and Fair communication.
This isn’t about security. It’s about power and exploitation…
This system needs to be called out and changed.
And it’s time African governments started protecting their citizens from this daylight exploitation.
UPDATE on my earlier tweet about the UK Visa Application Centre in Westlands, Nairobi
After raising concerns about the inhumane and exploitative treatment of Kenyan visa applicants, I had a meeting with Mr. Avinash Balu from the Centre. I took this opportunity to voice what many of us have experienced and demanded tangible, immediate changes. May I also add his prompt response to this matter is highly appreciated
Here’s what I put forward,
Dignified Waiting Areas: Our people cannot continue to queue under the sun, on pavements, like second-class citizens. The Centre must provide shaded, seated waiting areas for all applicants not just VIPs.
Parking for Applicants: The new location at Principal Place lacks basic convenience. I demanded the inclusion of a designated parking area for applicants, especially those with children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
Clear & Respectful Communication: No more vague emails or shifting instructions. I demanded a communication overhaul from the email notifications to the security personnel at the entrance. People deserve to know exactly when and how to collect their documents without confusion or coercion into paying more.
Inclusive Feedback Channels: I made it clear that feedback shouldn’t only be collected from prominent individuals. Every applicant deserves to be heard and respected. If you’re taking our money, you must also take our concerns ,all of them!!
Mr. Balu acknowledged these issues and assured me that changes are underway. A senior staff member will also publicly respond to this tweet , outlining the corrective measures being implemented. (I hope they keep their word)
But this is not where it ends.I will return in 3 months to follow up and assess whether these promises have been honored. This is not a PR opportunity ,this is a human dignity audit.
Africans should not have to endure humiliation just to apply for a visa to countries that benefit from our talent, money, and labor.
We must call out exploitative systems and demand better.
Which other embassy must we call out??
Regards
Lynn
OMG oregano oil. I ate some canned salmon last night, woke up at midnight with food poisoning symptoms too gross to describe. All day I’ve been horribly ill - nausea and bad headaches. Food poisoning is bacterial, I figured, and oregano oil (and cloves, thyme etc) are antibacterial. Halfway through eating a teaspoon of oregano oil (on an avocado slice) headache totally cleared, nausea gone. Allopathic medical websites responded to my symptoms by directing me to get tested for a brain tumor.

It is fun to say, "We shall all die,"
Until your parent or close relative or even yourself walks into a hospital because of an intolerable headache or an insufferable abdominal pain, and you are told,
"It is diabetes. You will have to swallow these for life,"
"It is haemorrhoids. We will have to cut them."
"It is colon cancer. We will take you through 8 cycles of chemotherapy."
"It is gastritis. You will have to swallow these kits."
It is right from here that:
Your savings will be drained.
Your mind will be depressed.
Your life will be distressed.
It is from here that it will occur to you that your greatest possession is not your car, or your job or your house,
— Your greatest possession is your health.
Go to any hospital today. Those patients have only one prayer,
"I pray for the well-being of my body."
So, take care of your health.
• Eat a healthy diet.
• Embrace physical activities.
• Have a purposeful rest.
• Live a righteous life.

⚡ Types of Magnesium
🧠 Many forms of magnesium are beneficial, but magnesium I-threonate is the best choice for the brain! #magteinpartner
Because of the ability for I-threonate to cross the blood brain barrier, it would give you more brain benefits than say magnesium citrate or glycinate.
