@TheParachuteReg Major Howards Orders and his personal notes. Upon these papers the first allied objectives were taken on D Day, with the men that followed these words. To them all god speed.
🇬🇧 June 5, 1944 | Nightfall
As darkness cloaks the fields of England, the men of the 6th Airborne Division prepare to jump into history.
Silently, they kit up—Maroon berets ready, hearts steady.
Their mission: secure the left flank, hold the bridges, and strike first for freedom.
Remembering all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Ready for anything 🆎

Lest We Forget
We Will Remember Them
I will be at my local cenotaph with my 94 yr old Mother to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Like my Uncle who at 19 was killed on DDay. Please respect us and those who fell as it was their sacrifice that enables us to live free
#Normandy79 Veterans and their families gathered at 1100hrs today outside the #MuséeMémorialPegasus to mark the 79th Anniversary of the 6th Airborne Division's operation to capture the bridges over the Caen Canal & Orne River on 5th-6th June 1944. 🆎🇬🇧🇨🇦🇫🇷 #LestWeForget
Our team has been busy in #Normandy79 covering the various events and supporting our veterans, their families and carers. Absolute mega effort by all involved 💪, tomorrow will be a day to remember, make no mistake. #theparachuteregiment 🆎@supportourparas 🇬🇧🇨🇦🇫🇷🟥 🟦 🟩⬛️
This evening spare a thought for all those who were bravely preparing to go to battle in a few hours 79 years ago and for those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom today. #LestWeForget#DDay79

@TrooliFibre@TrooliFibre I emailed your customer services and have had no reply, not even an email to acknowledge you received it and are investigating it. Not impressed.
Why are you using disk cutters & hammer drills outside my house at 21:10 hrs @TrooliFibre ? & its still going on now, Its NOT an emergency (youre not gas or water) as your worker states and he will be making this noise for another 2 hours he says

@DickDelingpole I have a box of these cigarette cards from before WW2 I have just been going through, most in albums. My late uncle collected them before he was called up. He's the pic I attached to my last tweet to you.
