I happily picked up two used Nvidia Tesla P40 GPUs.

I knew the P40 was old and ridiculously overbuilt.

What I did not expect was how long the GPUs would become once the coolers were attached.

Tried putting them in the case.

Nope.

The cooler end would not fit.

I thought about it for about 10 seconds.

Turns out the bottleneck was not the human.

It was the case.

So I grabbed a hammer and pliers and destroyed the front section of the case.

After that both P40 GPUs fit perfectly.

Put the cover back on and you cannot even tell from the outside.

Apparently hardware fits if you hit it hard enough.

Good experience.

Saw the Codex Micro came out for $230.

I don’t really want to buy it, but it’s technically interesting, and I felt like replicating the same functionality.

So, I put together the hardware using an ESP32 LCD development board and a breadboard I already had.

It's been a while since I messed around with an MCU, and it's pretty fun!

Looks like the weekly usage gap between Claude Max 20x and Max 5x is shrinking pretty fast.

August was around 2.5x.
Mid September was about 2.2x to 2.25x.
September 22 came in at roughly 1.46x.

If this keeps up Max 20x is starting to look a lot less like a simple weekly usage multiplier over 5x.
