@TheSimpleHeart_ But until then, come hang out with us this weekend, as we talk to legendary open rescuer Patty Mark about the first open rescue in animal rights history. We'll learn from her, how you can get involved, too.
While investigating a Petaluma Poultry factory farm, I rescued 2 chickens, Vincent and Petunia. Vincent was collapsed on the ground, so weak and sick that he couldn’t even stand up. Petunia was on her back with a bloody wing, slowly suffocating beneath her own weight. On the car ride back, I was terrified they were going to die at any moment. As soon as the avian vet opened, we rushed them in for urgent care. Vincent and Petunia were both diagnosed with Infectious Bronchitis Virus and Infectious Bursal Disease. Vincent was also diagnosed with heart disease, sway back, a hernia, Coccidia parasites, and a multi drug resistant strain of Enterococcus bacteria that was causing him to be septic. The joint in Petunia’s wing was found to be coming in and out of its socket. After more than $6,000 in vet bills and 5 days in the hospital, we were able to get them stable. They still have a long road ahead, but they are doing much better. They have such big and beautiful personalities. They’re so full of life and happiness. And as many of you know, we saved 18 more just the other day and I’ll share more on those individuals later. Thank you for supporting the right to rescue. #RightToRescue #ProsecutePetalumaPoultry
