The key outcome of the Ankara summit is that NATO remains united and that the allies’ commitment to collective defence - one for all and all for one - remains firm, despite political rhetoric and hostile propaganda.
Six Finnish companies participate in the Nato Summit Defence Industry Forum: Bittium, Forcit Group, Insta, Nokia, Patria and Sensofusion.
Finnish companies have state-of-the art expertise and products. Now time to support allies and develop joint projects.
The European defence industry is growing.
Recent intelligence reports from Sweden, Estonia and other NATO allies have suggested that Russia is preparing to test the alliance and its commitment to mutual defence via Article 5. https://t.co/kYNfBesyMW
Another disgraceful decision. While Russia continues its terror against #Ukraine - bombing cities, killing civilians and destroying lives - the #IOC chooses to reward the aggressor. A while ago, this was done with Belarus, now – with Russia. It's nothing else, but appeasement at the expense of justice and the Olympic values.
Ankara #NATO Summit declaration:
“We reaffirm our ironclad commitment to our collective defence under Article 5 of the Washington Treaty and to the transatlantic bond. An attack on one is an attack on all.”

Lithuania is among the NATO leaders in defence investment. In 2026, 🇱🇹 is projected to spend 5.38% of GDP on defence, the highest share in the Alliance.
This is what taking responsibility for collective defence looks like.
💪🏻 Join Lithuania to the 5% club!
🇹🇷 At the Ankara Summit, Lithuania calls on all Allies to invest decisively in defence. Security is built on real capabilities, fair burden sharing and action.
👉🏻 5% of GDP for defence must be the new standard, not the ambition.
🇱🇹🇺🇸 On the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Lithuania's Foreign Minister @BudrysKestutis met with U.S. Senators @LindseyGrahamSC and @SenatorDurbin to discuss strengthening transatlantic ties, enhancing European security, and sustaining support for Ukraine.
Lithuania is among NATO leading countries in defense spending. We are allocating 5.38% of our GDP to core defense with an additional 1.5% to dual-use infrastructure and resilience. In total, it amounts to almost 7% of GDP.
Today, at the NATO Summit in Ankara, I also underscored that the most effective deterrence is achieved when European and U.S. troops serve shoulder to shoulder on the Alliance's eastern flank.
From air policing to air defence: #Ankara marks a major step forward for NATO’s security in the Baltic region.
The most important result of the #NATOSummit decision for Lithuania is NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission transformation to an Air Defence, with faster response times and greater operational flexibility on the Alliance’s eastern flank.
The summit also unlocked major new defence commitments: Allies will provide €70bn annually for Ukraine over the next two years, boost defence spending by an additional €139bn, and invest €50bn in defence industry contracts.
The message from Ankara is clear: NATO is investing more, delivering more, and strengthening its ability to defend every inch of Allied territory.
A united and stronger NATO benefits every Ally. Estonia already invests 7% of GDP in defence, with more than 5% going to core defence. We hope all Allies will keep increasing defence spending.
Defence spending must become capabilities. NATO needs a stronger forward defence, more defence production and more joint procurement. That is how we deter Russia.
Ukraine needs predictable, long-term military support to achieve a just and lasting peace. Estonia provides military support worth at least 0.25% of GDP every year. Ukraine's future is in NATO. That perspective must remain firmly on the table.
I met with Italy’s @GiorgiaMeloni for an important conversation. I informed her about the situation in Ukraine.
Russia does not stop attacking our cities and communities. Today, there were ballistic missile strikes again, and attack drones were launched as well. Sadly, there are people killed in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson. Russia has taken the lives of five people. My condolences to their families and loved ones.
We discussed the prospects for our joint work in Europe on anti-ballistic capabilities to provide greater protection for everyone – both Ukraine and every country.
We spoke about the need for additional interceptors and we are counting very much on support. Italy has always helped in a principled way to protect life. Thank you!

The #NATOSummit delivered concrete results for Estonia.
NATO is transitioning the Baltic Air Policing mission into an air defence mission, giving the Alliance greater flexibility and faster response to air threats.
At the same time, Ämari Air Base will become an official NATO operational base. 🇪🇪

#JustNow NATO’s Ankara Summit has ended with unity – despite political turbulence. The Alliance is finding a way forward.
1/ The final declaration, signed by all leaders, reaffirms NATO’s collective defence commitment: one for all, all for one. The United States has again put its signature under NATO’s core security guarantee.
Letter from the Defence Ministers of 🇸🇪 🇳🇱 🇩🇪 🇩🇰 🇪🇪 🇵🇱 🇱🇻 🇫🇮 🇱🇹 to EU Commissioner @KubiliusA and HRVP @kajakallas on the need for Ukraine to have full flexibility in using its €90 billion loan for its urgent military needs.
