@RyanWaverley Message from our eldest sprog (from college) who bought it and is playing it now on Mac: "I'm really loving the princess factory. It's giving me laughs."
@RyanWaverley We bought the Mac version of The Princess Factory on itch.io
When we try to run it MacOS says:
“The Princess Factory” is damaged and can’t be opened.
Is this something you're aware of, should we wait for an updated version to download?
@RyanWaverley Great, thank you. We ended up downloading it afresh and clearing the quarantine bit:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/The Princess Factory.app"
and also on its libstream_api.dylib specifically. It runs now, thank you.
@Evan_Low In particular if you had contacts or constituents who could speak to the likelihood of an agreement with South Korea or Taiwan, both of which sign such agreements with other states, that would be welcome.
I think I have a contact for Germany already.
@Evan_Low If you're willing to think about Foreign Drive's License Reciprocity AB639, I've spent much of this year trying to convince my rep+senator to try again.
I've gathered data about uptake rate from Washington state, with an FOIA request pending in Virginia for more.
If there are supporters or backers you worked with who wouldn't mind being put in touch, I'd love to speak with them.
I am still not certain my rep or senator will actually submit text, but they are at least aware of it.
@Evan_Low If you're able to handle thinking about this topic, I can be reached at [email protected]
If you need space and distance, I apologize for reaching out and thank you for your efforts of the last few years.
@Evan_Low I wish you well in future endeavors and thank you for your effort on Foreign Driver's License reciprocity in the last few sessions.
I'm advocating to try again. If able, is there someone interested you could suggest I contact about authoring a bill in upcoming session?
@Evan_Low I've sent letters to my congresspeople, plus Rep. Sharon Quirk-Silva, Sen. Scott Wiener, Sen. Steven Choi, Rep. Luz Rivas — anyone I can find who co-authored or supported prior bills, trying to encourage a new bill.
@porceTwits Even without batteries, using excess power to cool the house past the desired temperature or heat water extra hot allows the work performed to be consumed later in the day.
I would like to see water heaters smart enough to mix cold + scalding to get a comfortable temperature.
@Guay_JG I note that the percentage of California deployment going to batteries looks higher, so the incentive design is working as intended to shift capital to storage. That part is good.
I agree that one would prefer to see the total amount of storage deployed be larger.
@troutgirl I dunno about you but I was unemployed during the dotcom bust in ~2001, in ~2008 during the subprime mortgage implosion, and now during huge Tech layoffs.
I am tired of this song. I want to change to a different album.
"This is what they told us Y2K was going to be like. #crowdstrike "
Every mention of Y2K now makes me sad. That was an enormous threat which, through will, money, and effort, we resolved, and solved it well enough that people mostly didn't notice.
I am THRILLED to say my entrepreneurial spirit lives on and I have started the recruiting company of my dreams.
Welcome to the world @thegoodrc
