These outputs will start to seep into our general knowledge. Facts will be mixed in with gpt “hallucinations.” And users will be none the wiser.
What’s the long term view? A self-reinforcing cycle of research>faulty answers>human “learning” of misinformation>fed back to LLMs?
We need the Daniel Dale(s) of chatGPT outputs. Like, immediately. As in, alarm bells should be going off.
Why? You can depend on gpt outputs for pattern finding, but you absolutely cannot depend on it to output facts.
Kids are using it to research papers. Analysts are using it to gather data and populate tables. Businesses are using it to offer financial advice.
And the outputs look human, authoritative, and correct.
But unless someone is fact checking every line of output…
Speaking of hiring a Product Designer, the awesome duo @gabor and @heysarah who are building T2 are hiring their founding PD.

I don’t use photoshop, but this is outrageous.
A little feature, sitting in the background, gathering WIP data to learn how to replace you by stealing from you.
This thread shining sunlight on political figures who complain about student debt forgiveness… who themselves had thousands of dollars in PPP loans forgiven

Heard @adriennemaree talking about #emergentstrategy on @onbeing, so I checked out https://t.co/4VeB0r7lY7 finally. I would just like to underline that their elements and principles should really be true for every area of life, work, systems. https://t.co/p986KUeHDo So good.
I can’t begin to put into words my feelings about the recent barbaric decision to overturn Roe vs Wade in the Dystopian States of America. This is Debbie Reynolds speaking about her own experience in the 60’s… it’s hard to listen to but this is what’s going to happen again.
Let’s be 100% clear. If Republicans win control of the House, Senate and White House two years from now, they will pass a national abortion ban. And no matter where you live, no matter how pro-choice your state is, women and doctors will be locked up for practicing health care.
I am devasted today. Devastated and enraged. (And the overturning of Roe v Wade in the US is only the tip of the iceberg regarding human rights.)
It’s not simply about abortion: this begets the criminalization of pregnancy, and that’s not hyperbole. https://t.co/UxNPQiUFaM
