We are the LGBT+ Allies group at Dunbar Grammar School! Follow to keep up to date with all going on across the school to promote inclusion and equality.
@dgs_tlc staff were given opportunity to complete training with @LGBTYS as part of our Silver Chartership Journey.
This inspired us to make 'inclusion pledges' for this school year, please enjoy hearing some of them in the video below!

Hanging the newly signed ‘progress’ pride flag to signify the commit students and staff have made against discrimination within Dunbar. 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ #RISE
If anyone was wondering why we chose to host our 'Pride Day' on Tuesday the 28th of june.
It is important that we not only celebrate diversity and strive for inclusion, but also educate the next generation on the history of their community and the people who paved the way.
Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the #StonewallRiots - a crucial turning point for the LGBTQ+ rights movement that has inspired decades more progress.
It's also the moment from which we're proud to take our name 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
So many of our young people attended @PrideEdinburgh and were inspired by the sense of community!
So they decided that the only way to end the Pride Day at @dgs_tlc was, of course, to hold a Pride March round the school grounds after school.
A fantastic end to #pridemonth
An extra special part of todays Pupil Pride Day was the #pridepicnic!
Members of the LGBT+ Allies group had a chance to be together and celebrate the hard work they have put into the @LGBTYS Silver Chartership Journey this year!
And of course there was lots of cake 🏳️🌈 🍰 🏳️⚧️
What a fun lunch time for Pride Day at @dunbar_grammar. Sport for all- staff and students were able to take part in a range of fun events! @dgslgbt#RISE 🏳️🌈
The winning entry to yesterdays 'Staff Bake Off' to celebrate #PrideMonth2022 had to be this spectacular one from @DGSMathsDept!
Can confirm that it tasted as good as it looked!
We couldn't let the pupils have all the fun and what better way to test what our staff have learnt in their @LGBTYS training this year than a *ahem* FRIENDLY Kahoot Quiz!!
Thank you to all those who joined. Hope you had fun! 🏳️🌈😍
Assemblies this week have been led by Brodie from the @dgslgbt Group. She highlighted our school progress with the LGBT Chartership and information about the many events which will be happening on Pride Day next Tuesday #RISE 🏳️🌈
Happy first day of Pride Month!!
Can not wait to share all the exciting events we have been planning to fully recognise and celebrate. Keep an eye on this space 😍🏳️🌈
Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. #IDAHOBIT is a great opportunity to stand up for trans rights and make your voice heard. We've come up with a few things you can do to support trans people today ⬇⬇⬇ #IDAHOBIT2022
A huge thanks to all who have been involved, especially our amazing performers!
Our final piece is the second winning poem on the theme of identity, created by an S1 pupil.
