@expendable_engg Not really.
Check the engineers in USA or EU. Almost everyone has a different major than the one they are working in.
I myself am a mechanical grad but working as a developer and i dont have any regrets.
In Bengaluru almost everyone wants to get into CS/AI related courses in BTech
When I joined UVCE as a mech engineer in 2016 I barely got in first round with 5k rank.
After 10 years the cut off is at 40k.
Same for EEE, Civil etc
I hope such news makes ppl take core engg
🚨TCS will not be hiring the kind of numbers it used to hire: Chairman N Chandrasekaran
-TCS will reduce large-scale hiring as AI agents take over tasks
-AI agents may soon match TCS's employee count

@sthita_pragna26 Need some incentives to get people taking core engineering courses
In my time Aeronautics aerospace was a trend but seems like its declined
Prioritise Good colleges over taking CS courses in bottom tier colleges
Life will be difficult with a core engg course but it will make you tough with some real skills
An era of middle class mobility through engineering grads getting into WITCH companies in campus recruiting is over.
The consequences of this is going to be brutal.
Agentic AI is pathbreaking in the sense that smart companies are using it to push more features in less time.
However, working with AI is not a walk in the park. Its hallucinating, creating bugs you find later in the SDLC, its even introducing a lot of dead code.
@trunamapi@calm_sutra Need to first increase train speeds of all passenger trains
I saw a news saying Gov is planning to do this.
Even if a VB can run 160kmph, if a train ahead runs at 60 or 70kmph, VB will have to slow down.
Need to make sure all trains run at 110kmph atleast
GCCs added 200,000 net employees in FY26, versus 110,000 by IT services firms.
Global capability centres have outpaced IT services hiring for 3 straight years as AI and cloud roles expand. The shift is moving advanced technology talent creation from outsourcing firms to multinational captive units.

@dhaarmicguy We have plenty of rolling stock production capacity now. Perambur, Raebareilli, Kapurthala, Latur, Sonipat. Every dabba ICF should be replaced with LHB coaches without exception.
Problem is dedicated rail lines/track doubling and signaling.
JUST IN 🚨 India has approved 7 high-speed rail corridors.

• Mumbai–Pune: 48 min
• Bengaluru–Chennai: 73 min

• Pune–Hyderabad: 2 hr 8 min
• Delhi–Lucknow: 2 hr
