it is the lack of platform capacity, stabling lines, and terminal infrastructure. Unfortunately, there has been little serious augmentation at KSR Bengaluru (Majestic) or Yesvantpur, which remain the primary gateways to the city.

To his credit, Pratap Simha pushed for the extension of several trains to Mysuru. In many cases, trains run comfortably on schedule or even ahead of time, until Mysuru or Bengaluru Outer.
The real bottleneck begins near the city itself. The problem is not line speed anymore
@calm_sutra@dhaarmicguy It is not even about rolling stock anymore. Despite serious efforts in doubling+electrification (esp in Karnataka), trains have not become faster due to capacity constraints in major stations like Bangalore/Mysore. No serious efforts in resolving this, unfortunately 😢
Mahalakshmi Express, a very punctual train, used to take 24 hrs between Mumbai & Bengaluru fifty years back, even with steam engine and half the distance by metre gauge. The new train too takes 24 hrs. Where is the progress? @AshwiniVaishnaw@VSOMANNA_BJP@TOIBengaluru
@trainwalebhaiya@TwinAlco GTL and TK, DVG are comparatively free compared to late evening departures.
Fingers crossed! Let's see what SWR and CR comes up. Hope VB sleeper gives a serious competition to private bus lobby.

@trainwalebhaiya@TwinAlco I'd like it to run via UBL, BGM with halts only at DVG, UBL, DWR, and PUNE. If the existing VB train TTs in the route are followed, I guess this train will be a super hit provided it reaches CSMT/LTT next morning provided it departs SBC late afternoon (b/w 2 and 4) as paths via
