Regarding the shameful ban on the film "Satluj"/"Punjab 95" in India

I thankfully got a chance to watch the extremely powerful film "Satluj" on Zee5 over the weekend before the Modi Govt abruptly pulled it down.

The film tells the story of human rights crusader Jaswant Singh Khalra who exposed the butchering of innocents that happened in Punjab in the mid-90s. It is a reckoning of a horrible chapter of our history which we have ignored for decades.

The film exposes a diabolical era where our institutions failed miserably. The fact that the film has been banned just goes on to show how much our "democracy" has further eroded under the Modi Govt.

I have written to Sh Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Minister for Information Broadcasting and IT expressing my strongest protest against the banning of this important film.

I understand this is a futile exercise but history will not forgive us if we choose to remain silent.

We owe it to the memory of Jaswant Singh Khalra and the thousands of victims of Punjab whose story is being shamefully buried. It is time that our nation starts having the uncomfortable conversations that are required to acknowledge and confront the dark episodes of our past.

India has begun rolling out a closed-loop, programmable CBDC specifically for Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries. This is the test-bed for the global food-control agenda.

An individual working for both the Gates Foundation and the Indian central bank was involved in drafting the blueprint for the financial infrastructure required for demonetization.

May 2016: The RBI first mentioned plans to print new banknotes.

An individual working simultaneously for Bill Gates and the Indian central bank was involved in formulating the demonetization plan. The RSS-affiliated Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) later wrote an open letter to Modi demanding Mor’s removal from the RBI board, citing a "conflict of interest." Mor’s "dual role" was eventually exposed.

July 2016: The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Google released a joint report describing India's digital payment market as a "$500 billion gold mine." The report predicted "major disruption" and tenfold growth in digital payments. November 8, 2016: Demonetization announced.

Modi announced that 86% of the currency in circulation was being invalidated. The official rationale was to combat "black money" and "terrorist financing." However, more than 99% of the demonetized notes ultimately flowed back into the banking system meaning the operation failed to achieve any of its objectives.

November 17, 2016: Just nine days after the announcement, Gates publicly described it as a "bold move" and stated that "the temporary pain is worth it."
