IRDAI has released a major consultation paper titled “Recalibrating Economics of Insurance Distribution”, proposing tighter controls on how much insurers can spend on distribution, commissions & customer acquisition.

The biggest impact of IRDAI’s proposed changes could impact insurance distributors

Policybazaar & Turtlemint primarily earn by distributing insurance products & receiving commissions from insurers. If commission caps come down, their take rates & unit economics get hit directly.

This is potentially a significant reset of insurance distribution economics.

🤔 LIC में पैसा जमा किया हुआ 8 साल हों गया, 12 साल का पोलिशी था,

- मेरे दुकान के पड़ोसी उसको पैसों की जरूरत पड़ी तो उन्होंने लोन लेने से LIC कों क्लोज करके पैसा निकालना बेहतर समझा।

- लगभग 250000 जमा हुआ था, एजेंट ने कहां यदि आप समय से पहले पोलिशी क्लोज करना चाहोगे तों आप के जमा पैसों में से 27% पैसा काटा जाएगा।

- उन्होंने पूछा क्यूं? जवाब आया यह हमारे LIC के नियम है जों समय से पहले पैसा withdrawal करते हैं उनसे 27% काट किया जाता है।

- 8 साल जमा किया हुआ पैसा उन लोगों ने इस्तेमाल किया फायदा उन लोगों को हुआ, पर अपने पैसे निकालना चाहों तों 27% टेक्स देना पड़ता है।

- यह कैसा नियम है भाई ? 8 सालों से हमारे पैसों में मौज मस्ती किया उप्पर से 27% टेक्स लगा दिया, गज़ब टोपी बाज है भाई।

- आपके पैसे भी LIC में जमा है? Withdrawal करते वक्त ध्यान देना समय से पहले withdrawal करोगे तो 27% टेक्स देना पड़ता है, मैं तो कहता हूं LIC में पैसा रखने से बेहतर है किसी काम में इन्वेस्ट करें।
