@Zoroarts @Kotaku This is already Steam's present. Vampire Survivors blows up and suddenly there's droves of survivorlikes getting released. There's not many good ones, some don't even understand why the original was fun, even fewer innovate on the concept.

AI can do volume but not quality.

Also if you go to the beach, other people being in bikinis is incidental, you shouldn't stare at them. A Fortnite skin is there for you to specifically pay for and stare at. False equivalence.

@jere_codes I guess because a lot of people who are super enthusiastic about AI and post about it a lot actually don't have the skills to do what they use AI to do.

I think to get any value from it you need to be an expert in what you're using it for, or mistakes slip through.

@brainage19 Construction workers and engineers have to know what they're doing though, since they can't build the bridge over and over again until it finally stays up, they have to make sure it stays up first try.

This is why I don't consider programming to be a form of engineering.

@DanielGlejzner It is tiresome that you can have 10 years of work experience as a dev and the interview process is designed to make sure you know what a for loop is.

Do structural engineers interview by making little towers or bridges out of paper straws to make sure they know what a truss is?

@ScarletCinema They don't do it with the Moana remake, because Polynesian culture must be represented accurately. But western culture is ripe for 'artistic license'. So now we have a Greek epic with zero Greek people in it. The double-standard is annoying and noticeable.

@ArguablyAnna If people care about the stories and the world they're in then the worldbuilding isn't shit. It doesn't need to make any sense beyond serving the story. I know mail being delivered by nature's slowest bird doesn't make logistical sense, but it doesn't matter.
