Regardless of your views on LTNs and @CllrScottArthur’s wilful disregard for residents’ clearly expressed wishes, this is not OK.
No matter how frustrating the tone-deaf council gets, play the ball, not the man.
@thistlerugbypod Particularly as World Rugby gerrymandered the qualification window retrospectively, because Scotland were in the top 8 on their original schedule.
@lmacinnessnp@agcolehamilton … brought into the consistent personal attacks. I also endured (in my view non-credible) threats of physical violence. I’m not a politician, I shouldn’t have had to put up with that. However, I didn’t not hold you responsible for it. Likewise, you shouldn’t do so for ACH. (7)
We point out here that Corstorphine residents have asked that something be done about the continued growth of traffic coming through the area for decades. Residential streets shouldn't have thousands of cars rat running through them every day. https://t.co/rvr1H2JMRu
@CllrScottArthur You’re not “pushing” if traffic is already there - it only gets “pushed” if you change something, so your statement is misleading.
In Corstorphine, people live on Station Road and Meadowplace Road, where you’ve “pushed” traffic.
@CllrScottArthur @allisont2607 Clearly, that would be utterly fanciful. I’m sure you will tell me what the images are meant to represent, but we all know the guide dog and child are emotive, psychological spin designed to evoke a certain response in the viewer. Did Sustrans create these for you, by any chance?
@CllrScottArthur @allisont2607 Your infographic is shocking in its spin, bias, and quite probably worse, Scott. It clearly claims that for every 2 people travelling to work in a car solo, one person walks to work led by a guide dog? Or roughly a third cycle to work with a child, as take the bus? 1/
It’s only ever been about crumbs from the SNP’s table. It’s why the Scottish Greens so readily exchanged environmentalism for nationalism. Possibly the only party in the global green movement to do so and they’ll suffer for it when the SNP collapse.
@TrafficLow @CllrScottArthur @agcolehamilton@EdinReporter @best_edinburgh @SW20Ed @corstclimaction@CarrickKnowe This was because the undemocratic, unelected anti-motorist cycling pressure group Sustrans gets unfettered access to primary schools to indoctrinate children, unquestioned.
To say the kids were led down a path as part of Sustrans’ LTN campaign would be an understatement.

Looking back at how we got to Corstorphine’s trial LTN, this 2021 piece sees children outlining the safer streets they want to see around their schools, the main reason for the Manse Road bus gate.
Do pupils deserve a safe walk to school? https://t.co/J6HqAD0Uap
@jester_mouse@TrafficLow@ACECorstorphine I would say the vast, vast majority were local. No public meeting with audit proof of address, that’s utterly unrealistic and I suspect you know that.
You didn’t answer me on why you wouldn’t set up a pro-LTN public meeting to demonstrate the massive support for it?
80 attendees in 2017 v a minimum count of 525 last night, almost universally opposed to the Corstorphine LTN on a show of hands.
@trafficlow are in a very small minority in supporting the Corstorphine LTN. It showed, emphatically, last night.
@ACECorstorphine
In October 2017 a public meeting took place in Corstorphine organised by @CorstorphineCC to discuss traffic/congestion issues, from speeding and rat runs to commuter and airport parking. Has @agcolehamilton forgotten he was there?
