Communication has a huge impact, negative and positive. Both are equally as important. As I stated before, sometimes you need to have a negative impact in order to make it a positive one. And hopefully all the negative turns into positive.
I think this is one of the hardest pills I still struggle to swallow. Even if they all want to interact with you in that way there's only so much time and resources you alone have

I think to grow you need to make mistakes. Admitting your failures and working on them is one great way to improve. Not just as a communicator but as a teacher. Push yourself and get out of you comfort zone.
What helped me with this last year was talking to the rest of the certain student's teachers until I found one that the student was comfortable with. Although it is difficult, it shows me a very valuable lesson that I will always remember.

One thing that I learned is something that most teachers dread. I learned that you cannot communicate with every student. Not every student wants to communicate with you.

I love to make phone calls home. Emails sometimes do not send the right tone or message. Due to this, I try my hardest to have a phone call. Before I send an official email, I send an email asking if there is a certain time they can talk on the phone.

I absolutely love this question! This question is important for educators, but also for everyone else. From my experience, the key is to learn how to listen. Listen to the small details just as much as the big ones. This shows people that you care and want to help!

One of the most important things to do in order to have a healthy conversation is finding a good and safe place to talk with coworkers. This would allow for every party to feel comfortable to speak.
@LynnLimitless I agree all of this but would also add the visual aspect. Communication can be done by body language. As educators we need to be able to communicate in many way. This helps us reach a wider variety of students.
