@sgthomas1973 @Gypsy11703528 I think this was the hardest thing for me to do when starting teaching. This past year I really focused on just one app (Seesaw) and it was much easier for me to master and create activities for it. Its much easier to master one than try to use all different apps! #edchat
@patriciasmeyers@blairteach Technology should not be something that we force into our lessons just to say we are using it. We need to make sure that it is enhancing whatever lesson we are trying to teach. There also needs to be a balance. Children still need to have social interactions! #edchat
@Allison19769312 @sgthomas1973 I couldn't agree more! Technology should be used only to enhance the lesson. Children still need to be engaging with other children! #edchat
@Gypsy11703528@lamasterkcb@ShiftParadigm @sgthomas1973 @tomwhitby@DennisDill It can be a lot of information. Our specialist allows us to choose what we would like for her to present to us. This past year we worked a lot with Seesaw and that was our main focus. We found ways to use it in our literacy and math stations. #edchat
@lamasterkcb@ShiftParadigm@Gypsy11703528 @sgthomas1973 @tomwhitby@DennisDill I agree! Teachers need to be more familiar with technology so that we are more willing to use it in our rooms. My district has technology specialists that come to school to help with all of our technology needs. We discuss new apps or programs we can use in our classroom. #edchat
@Allison19769312 Technology is such a huge part of our world. Students need to be exposed to new technology to help them become functioning adults in a technology driven society. I'd love to get some tips on ways to balance screen vs. non-screen time! #edchat
@CianSalleh @sesteed92 This model is great for students to reach that higher level of thinking! I like how it is extended past just the typical KWL chart. I would love to implent this in my classroom! #EdChat
@sesteed92@amtobincoastal1@K12TrustED@ASCD @AlisaSimeral I fully agree that coaches have so many different roles and being a teacher of teachers is one of the most important. I also feel that it is important that they are a mentor because then teachers feel comfortable expressing concerns and asking questions. #EdChat
@sesteed92@glodigcit My students also enjoy using movement for discussions. It makes them remember what we are learning and students at such a young age need to be up and moving! We also use Kagan strategies in our classroom and my hope for this coming school year is to implement even more! #EdChat
@mmhole17 @csmithsmarties @valruckes I totally agree that a lot of time is lost in transitions. This is something that I try to work on really hard at the beginning of the year so that the students understand that this time needs to be quick and so there is a proceure for evereything. #1stchat
@csmithsmarties Empowering students to own their learning means being the facilitator of the classroom but not being the only source of information. It is important for students to be able to be accountable for their learning and to have the opportunity to be creative. #1stchat
@hawkeye_teach24 @csmithsmarties Wow! I wish I only had 14 students in my class. I currently have 20 on my roster for next year and that number will surely go up. I had 24 in my class last year. I think it is so beneficial to have smaller classes sizes! #1stchat
