Thank you, @CarmenFong_MD, for this piece! So much of it resonates and it is ALL Worth Discussing. (Also: “Constipation Nation?” Impeccable. Can’t wait to read it!!) https://t.co/LsZiNq31N7
These are my teammates. We are Olympic champions. Three of us tried to give birth. Two of us experienced near-death complications. One of us died. We have to, and we will do more. Tori’s death cannot and will not be in vain.

This is my dear friend, Nakita.
Nakita and I were medical school classmates and both interns in New York City. Nakita tragically took her own life on May 26.
She is such a beautiful soul. She was so fun to be around. She was intelligent, charismatic, and confident. (1/x)
A powerful piece.
"What I really needed was an attending who would recognize the dog whistling in words like "overconfident" and "arrogant".

If #obgyntwitter had a dollar for every time we have to tell a pt that we don’t have exact answers on what causes their conditions & how to help them feel better… we could probably beat that 10% 😡
We will repeat them a few times leading up to #WOCD2023#WorldOvarianCancerDay, but here are the most common symptoms:

Many AANHPI women experience large wage gaps. Native Hawaiian women make 61 cents and Bangladeshi women make 48 cents while a white man in the same role and positions makes one dollar. We must close the #WageGap harming women & families. #AANHPIEqualPayDay#NotYourModelMinority
As #Immunotherapy ⬆️ in #gynonc standard of care (h/t @rne_md, @MirzaCPH) we should also ⬆️ awareness/research of long term #Cardiology impacts. Esp with gender disparities in heart-related research at baseline!
The cardiotoxicity of ICIs may be much more pervasive than we think. While rare cases of ICI myocarditis are highly feared complications that should be monitor for—don’t miss the forest for the trees with the effects of ICIs on #ASCVD.

Agree completely. Outstanding grand rounds from THE Dr. Jackie Parchem @jackie_parchem.
Further, that OB/Gyn Depts receive 1.2% of total NIH funding to study conditions that affect 50%+ of the population is recurrently mind blowing.
