Surround yourself with people who add peace to your life and bring the absolute best out of you. Your circle is crucial to your success and your mental health.
Invest in something you love everyday. I know some of us, hell most of us do what we have to do for who we have to do it. We devote ourselves to the responsibilities & obligations of life. but remember to take some time to give to your passion, your peace. You deserve that!
This thread is absolutely horrifying. I’m don’t hold any degrees in medicine, but I’m very happy.
Here’s how I arrived at happiness, perhaps this will help you:
1. Gratitude. Every day on this earth is a gift. Enjoy. Rejoice. Out with the bad, in with the good.
2. Move. If you don’t belong, you’re in the wrong place. It took me 45 years to find my place. Have patience and enjoy the ride.
3. Have a family. Nothing beats it.
4. If you are fortunate enough to have children, understand that they are going to become who they need to be, no matter what you do. Enjoy the time and don’t actively sabotage and you’ll be fine and they will be wonderful. Relax.
5. Never ever procrastinate. If it’s your job to swallow a live toad, do it first thing in the morning. Your day will only look up from there. Nobody has a life that adds more than one toad a day. So you will get down to 1-3 toads and your life will be filled with joyous tasks. Mostly. The occasional toad. Take it out early.
6. You can’t focus on more than one thing. Refuse when your boss reeks you to focus on these five things. If they are too lazy to choose, then you get to pick whichever ONE thing you want to do. That’s fine.
7. Do first things first and second things not at all. (The trick is learning what is a first thing).
8. Happiness is a moral imperative (@DennisPrager). This should have been higher up but I’m not going to renumerate all my points (because that would make me unhappy and happiness IS a moral imperative). Be happy. Nobody makes you mad, you make you mad. Nobody makes you moody, you do. So stop it. There’s a choice. Don’t. Straighten your back. Put on a smile. You’re alive and by now you’re in this wonderful place where you’re at home, so ENJOY IT!
9. Become a parent. Once you do, nothing’s about you. You’re off the hook. All you have to do is smile. Feed them. House them. Love them. Watch them become what they were born to. It’s wonderful. Just relax and enjoy.
10. Exercise. Any way that works for you.
11. Sleep and health are important. Pay attention.
Here’s a big ol’ hug: 🤗
You’re fine. It’s all fine. Enjoy it.
I am proud to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at Kean University! This would not be possible without my family, close friends, and coaches for guiding me along the way. #rollcougs
