Ochoa was preceded in death by his “Split T” @TexasFootball teammates HB Billy Quinn (2002), HB Gib Dawson (2005) and QB James “T” Jones (2020), all of whom he loved and spoke of often. All 4 are in Texas Hall of Honor. Ochoa inducted into National Hispanic Sports Hall in 2007

Saddened to report passing last weekend of El Paso sports legend Richard Ochoa, 90. Only 2nd Hispanic to play @TexasFootball, he was 1953 Cotton Bowl MVP. Inducted into @EPAHOF_ in 1993, National Hispanic Sports Hall of Fame in 2007/Member UT Hall of Honor
