@2DoApp I really hate to be that person, but are you still developing the Android app, or is your focus on iOS? I totally understand if that's the case, that's a lot of an independent developer. (I use both, I'm just really enjoying dark mode)

The fact employers are technically allowed to force someone who tested positive to work while sick or get fired is a recipe for disaster.

@prickIypaws I loved flying as a kid. As an adult my brain is aware of how absolutely terrifying of a concept that is. Squishy humans are not designed to zoom that quickly that high up in a metal tube. 😅

@HerborealArt @DouglasFur13 Definitely Chihuly inspired. Very cool piece but seems a strange choice for a Hyatt. I wonder if this is a local artist? I know a lot of larger hotels actually celebrate the history and people of the area they're in through their decor, even if it is subtle nods.

@HowtoADHD Anything I've ever gone to any doctor for and been diagnosed with, the most education I've gotten is a piece of paper printed from some random internet site, or a copy from a book (with the words 'do not reproduce' copied). No explanations beyond that.

@dampscribbler @BradenY1980 @HowtoADHD This absolutely. When I was trying to find someone with ADHD marked as their 'experience' 90% of their "experience" was that 'some boys are so hyper they can't focus, you're not climbing on furniture so let's find any other diagnosis except that one.'

@ScoopTheOtter @catch_a_cas3 @narutosdurag Hate it say it, but this definitely happens. at the pizza shop I worked at this was absolutely true. We weren't allowed to eat messed up orders, but only the owner cared what happened to them. People took a lot of (intentionally) 'messed up' pizzas home all the time.

@Adabear_Art @narutosdurag Worked in a pizza shop as a teen. We learned very quickly where the cameras were so we could hide the messed up pizzas and share them. If the owner came by unexpectedly and found one, you knew at least one of your coworkers got written up for it.

@Shann_Q0 Although we do have doormats both outside and inside every door, and you're expected to clean off your shoes if you can't change them. If they're too messy and at someone else's house you generally ask permission (even if the answer is obviously yes) to go shoeless.

@Shann_Q0 In my area it's absolutely weird to take off your shoes ever, and if you do it's only to put slippers on or at the doctor while they're measuring your height. After owning a home I have to clean the floors in I really wish taking off shoes at the door would be a normal thing.

My most candid teacher said a career was as much about selling your experience and your brand as it is your art. For me, it's late '90s/y2k pop culture, wild berry pop tarts, and jolly ranchers. Every great artist has been a representation of the culture and time they lived.

Watching a lot of art videos lately, and one of the things I'm not seeing is discussing perception and observation style and skill and how it influences. Improving observational skills let's you connect with the important parts of a reference without getting hung up on details.

When chasing "Your Style"™️, don't think of it as a goal to achieve, but more of bottling up the things you love, artistic and non-artistic. It's what shaped you as a person, not just your art. There's a reason people look similar to pieces in the 'art vs artist' thing.

@vevianart Absolutely agreed. The two I've seen most widely taught, Loomis and Bridgeman, are both from the early half of last century. I'm just sad that actual life drawing classes/groups seem to be on the way out as most teaching materials don't include much model diversity.

@vevianart Doesn't make the heels any less awkward and problematic since the entire lower half is aligned differently flat footed.

@vevianart In at least one other height chart I remember seeing he specifically points out where the actual heel lies, and the average hight of shoe heels at the time. On the men's chart he clarifies that the proportions are not an average person but are exaggerated in artist use.
