Here is my 2nd creation for @BridgesMathart 2018.
These vases are created from single sheets of wood that have been patterned with a combination of rigid and flexible (living hinge) regions. Magnets are press fit into the edges and then the vases magically fold into shape.
Happy #PiDay! “The design for this sculpture is comprised of twelve pi symbols arranged with tetrahedral symmetry....” Sarah Berube @DiametricArts. See this & more #mathart in the 2017 Mathematical Art Exhibition at https://t.co/aSaXX7pLa0 @BridgesMathart
This figure was constructed with a more filled in version of that pentagon ring pictue, but rotated a bit differently, so the figure made by the outer decagons looks different, and things align differently

Thanks @DiametricArts for the wonderful #mathart -- especially fun for #PiDay! We invite followers to see this and other works in the 2017 Mathematical Art Exhibition on AMS Mathematical Imagery at https://t.co/aSaXX7pLa0 https://t.co/LUJWZGVrWC
Happy March, everyone! I'm having fun wondering how many people are going to be seeing my 12Pi sculpture on their wall every day for the next month. Thank you, @amermathsoc! #March2018#Pi#mathart#sciart#3Dprinting
I'm so excited that @amermathsoc featured my 12Pi sculpture for March in their Calendar of Mathematical Imagery! You may have spotted it already if you're at #JMM2018 right now. Find the sculpture in my #Shapeways shop: https://t.co/S8653DBxfm #mathart#3Dprinting@BridgesMathart
