Woke up this morning with this on my mind. I think it is particularly triggering not just for black women and men but also for all women "of a certain age." Looking at it intersectionally, It's not just a demonstration of how racism is deeply embedded in our society but also how prevalent misogyny still is. I will bet a pound to a pinch of salt that every woman in this country over the age of 40 will have suffered some form of male-inflicted public humiliation in their professional lives based on pure misogyny. I feel like we have been fighting for decades for absolute equity and the eradication of racism and misogyny for nothing. Little has changed. In fact, if anything, it has got worse again over the last 15 years. What comparatively little progress we have made over the last half-century is being chipped away by far right demagogues and their repugnant supporters.
