@FigmaEdu_Alex@FigmaEdu_Alex Alex, I reached out via email before the long weekend but haven't heard back, so just wanted to check that someone got the email. Thanks!
My heart is full after a fantastic #CarCon2024. Reconnecting with international colleagues and discussing all things careers research was so uplifting. Much gratitude to @Jos__A, @evgeniaIysova and the entire organizing committee (including the awesome VU PhD students)!
I've started a UX/UI Design certificate. I love learning more about this topic and field, which has become central to my instructional design & facilitation work as a faculty member. My current class (UX/UI in research methods) is near and dear to my academic heart โจ๐
Testing out an AI chatbot I set up to 'talk' with my students about social exchange theory as it applies to strategic HRM principles. Neat application of AI technology for my learners!
My Strategic HRM students complete a 'Career Vision Board' assignment. Reading the assignments evokes many emotions as I learn about their dreams, fears, struggles, and goals. Walking alongside these students is a privilege, and Iโm thankful to be a small part of their journeys.
I am proud to be part of @magicschoolaiโs Pioneers Program!ย There is so much potential for post-secondary educators to elevate the learning experiences we design for our students, and also to help our students become responsible and ethical users of AI tools.
Love this! Administrators & others can lose touch with what being on the front line is like. I appreciate seeing folks step back in wholeheartedly, even if it's just for a bit, to understand the current challenges & opportunities in the classroom. Rooting for you @jmattmiller!
It's been 8 years. This is my first teacher work day in 8 years.
Desks are arranged. My desk is cleaned. Planning lessons.
I used the words "my classroom" recently for the first time in years.
Excited. Let's do this. #MattsBackInClass
Losing my mind over our open-source LMS that malfunctions half the time. Just for extra fun this week, it's displaying grades incorrectly to students & our IT team has no idea what's happening or how to fix it. I don't ask for much, but honestly...
Thanks to @CBCRadioActive for the opportunity to share our research on womenโs entrepreneurial confidence!

Getting to spend the evening discussing research ideas for a special issue contribution with a great group of HR academics (including a giant in my field whose work I studied as a PhD student) was such a balm to this tired professor's soul โจ
Meeting with HyFlex learning community. The need to respond to our students' desire for flexibility is important. Talking about keeping it simple with multi-modal and how to deal with resistance inside our institutions. I want to be prepared for when my institution is ready!
This summer, I worked with a student from our Design program who helped me translate theoretical concepts into images for one of my undergraduate HR courses. I'm excited to try some of these images in my digital lesson plans that guide my in-person delivery this week!
