@johncutlefish As an example in the word doc I might have chapters titled ‘how can we improve conversion?’ Or ‘How can we reduce the daily grind of keeping things running’. I then just encourage everyone to add bullets. When planning we all read the doc and debate what next....
@johncutlefish If using Jira I see what’s in the project as an indication of a commitment, on the basis that I encourage not committing too far (few week) in advance then I keep everything out of jira or on other boards. I prefer a word doc / wiki that is well structured and publicly shared.
@madebysheppard This made me laugh because I lived in the PHPMySQLChat - Chat room because I spent half mylife trying to develop facebook. Occasionally I brought my head out of the code and conversed with the Weezer fan universe.
@kevinrutherford Sainsbury’s in Sale had it about right, I couldn’t guess how many were in the store though. It helped having far more checkouts open than normal, no queues meant a quick turn around and prevented any congestion build up.
I’ve seen all the retailers including @coopuk urging people to stop bulk buying but none of them are doing the right thing and simply refusing to sell in bulk. So, loads of people now have loads of calpol and those that need it for kids that are actually ill have none. 👏👏👏
@pauldambra@YvesHanoulle Also, I think each team had been saying the same things in retro’s for ages, so ...more sharing accross teams of what is being said in retro’s, looking for trends and patterns, using the data.
@pauldambra@YvesHanoulle I’d have sent out a beacon to the whole team asking for feedback on random things each week rather than letting things get completely out of hand. It wasn’t really our fault but we could have reacted much much sooner, the warning signs were there.
Great day visiting @SpartaGlobal in Birmingham, so much energy and emerging talent that you could make a fortune bottling it up and selling it (I guess they do). 👏
@pauldambra @andylongshaw I think a lot of the time the tinkering with columns etc doesn’t reflect reality and therefore isn’t fixing problems just hiding them. The board might end up ugly and busy but it’s important it tells the truth if it is to be used to provide insight. Proper Kanban.
@chrisvmcd I saw the same but after reading all the posts it seemed to have been a rather epic dependency mapping session with loads of teams coming together. I’d hope that drawing the complexity would help them reduce it. ..probably not, but I’m an optimist.
