@alc2022 I’ve been saying this. $AMD is absolutely cooked. No reason to choose AMD ROCm GPU when you can get a TPU from a mag7 for much cheaper. Meanwhile $NVDA has CUDA moat for a few more years. You are giving bad advice. $AMD will fall back down to $100.
@sama you’re running out of time. You need the bailout. Google, Meta, Amazon and Anthropic are going to eat your lunch. You need to invest in Intel now, if you want any government help, otherwise you have no skin in the game to negotiate. Buy Gaudi chips and make a foundry deal.
@sama you need to invest in Intel and you need to do it now. If you want any chance of beating Google, you need to get government support. It’s the only way Trump will even agree to it. Otherwise he can give 2💩 if Google eats your cake. Buy all the Gaudis and lock a foundry deal
@DefiantLs You can only have one mother, you can create a few more daughters, and you can have many wives. Wives are easily replaceable. Daughters are hard to replace, mothers are irreplaceable.
@sama if you don’t make a deal with Intel OpenAI is cooked. As per David Sachs, OpenAI is nothing special compared to other model makers, so no bailout. Investing in Intel is the only way to make you stand out. Buy up all the Gaudis, make a deal with Intels ASIC lab and foundry.
@alc2022 Umm $GOOG just released an ASIC TPU they trained Gemini on. 70% cheaper than a GPU. $AMD is cooked. Nvidia is safe short term cuz $NVDA has industry hooked on CUDA. However there is no reason for any hyperscaler to use $AMD ROCm. The real winner in all this will be $INTC foundry.
@sama No Intel = no bailout. You better start buying up the Gaudis and using the foundry if you want any chance of getting a bailout. Trump admin wants to see returns in their Intel investment.
@sama Intel is US gov’s / Trump’s baby right now. You can convince the US gov for financial guarantees to OpenAI by first involving Intel in your roadmap, i.e. by adding Intel Gaudi to your accelerator infrastructure, or using Intel’s foundry to produce your custom ASICs.
