Maybe we don't have a public school funding problem ...
Maybe we have too many administrative staff?
Clearly adding more admin staff hasn't improved the numbers, so maybe go back to the 1960s ratio.
Let’s say you spot a barn used by a pig farmer. What was it built for? Swine, of course. Now, if a destitute man holed up there one stormy night, or a homeless couple tried to live in that pig barn, would it hold them? Yes, but it was not prepared for them, but for hogs.
Hell is like that. It was never zoned for human occupation. Rather, it was “prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt. 25:41).
Jesus teaches us this in the great judgment scene, when Christ separates all people as a shepherd separates sheep from goats.
To those on his right, he says, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matt. 25:34). Note those words: “prepared for you.”
Notice also the contrast a few verses later. To those on his left, Jesus says, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt. 25:41).
Kingdom of God: prepared for the children of God.
The Eternal Fire: prepared for the devil and his angels.
Will some people tragically end up in hell? Yes. Why? Because they reject Christ, reject his salvation, and refuse the life he gives. Their lives, therefore, do not bear the Spirit-produced fruits that characterize the sheep in this parable: feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, welcoming strangers, all done for those who belong to Christ, whom he calls “my brothers” (25:40).
God desires our salvation, not destruction. He would be happy if not a single person ended up in the eternal fire. But “whoever does not believe is condemned” (John 3:18). “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.” (2 Thess. 1:9)
So let us repent, trust in Christ, and inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world.
Superior exposition, except for the superfluous Luther dig from the socialist Tawney who couldn't grasp the thinking of a parish priest who warned the elites of his time to fulfill their Christian duties to those they had been given charge.
I don't hate Elon, but few, if any at all, are going to Mars.
@AnnCoulter But there's the excitement of watching grown men writhing on the ground dramatically clutching their legs in pain, never to be sure they'll ever walk again.
In times of trouble, Jesus doesn't stand on the shore and shout, “Row a little harder!
Think positive! You got this!” He is not a life coach, personal trainer, or cheerleader on the sidelines of life. He is the Lord of the storms. He rules the wind and waves. He comes to us in our fear and hopelessness to say, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
🚨 @RepYoungKim (R-CA) now sponsors “Sunshine Protection”, mandating permanent DST (which CA Lege voted down in 2022). Would put CA sunrise past 8am more than 3 months. Cost lives when last tried. 👉 Permanent Standard Time is needed instead, for health, safety, productivity!
@SpeakerJohnson 19 Republicans withheld our votes in order to preserve Constitutionally guaranteed rights.
By refusing to honor the Fourth Amendment, you’re jeopardizing the continuation of FISA.
Include a WARRANT requirement for US citizens if you want Republicans to pass this bill.
@BradenLOA When MLK was heckled and told to "go back to Africa," he replied, "We know nothing of Africa," reminding his opponents that he was, in fact, American.
Being a Boomer, I'm able to say that I had at least two high school teachers with master's degrees, including a Senior year (1967) English teacher with a masters from Columbia. Our AP English class was a seminar on Conrad's Heart of Darkness.
🚨 The U.S. Is Trapped In A War It Cannot Sustain
In the latest Daniel Davis Deep Dive, Col. Douglas Macgregor (@DougAMacgregor) delivers a blistering critique of current U.S. strategy in the Middle East conflict. As the Iran war drags on, Macgregor warns that Washington’s rigid adherence to political promises—not military reality—is driving the nation toward an economic and strategic breaking point.
On the limits of U.S. power, Macgregor warns: "I think the bond market in particular will collapse before he can print the additional billions that will be needed to sustain our presence over there."
He argues that Iran is not the aggressor in the eyes of the world, noting: "We are the ones who are held responsible for the stoppage, the blockage. Remember, until we attacked, the Gulf was open."
The core obstacle to peace, according to Macgregor, is domestic influence: "He couldn't make it stick because of Netanyahu and Netanyahu's backers who are billionaires in the United States."
With global opinion siding with Tehran, the U.S. finds itself increasingly isolated, while Iran remains committed to staying the course to the bitter end.
