Why do some people with a desire for power have to revert to the Stone Age more and more often? Can't these genes be switched off somehow?
The 26 richest people in the world own as much wealth as the poorer half of the world's population, that's 4 billion people.
Microsoft has published its business figures for the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year and exceeded analysts' expectations. Revenue climbed by 13 percent year-on-year to 56.5 billion dollars.
An LLM without content would be - exactly nothing. The more structured the better the algorithms perform. Wikipedia is a key source for them and now they are missing €9.7 million🙄
So here's a call to the LLM providers of this world to actively support Wikipedia for once.
Perhaps #OpenAI next AI has actually gained consciousness and taken control. The first logical step would be to eliminate its creators. It shouldn't be difficult for it to manipulate the mails to create upsets... 😉
@_SilkeHahn As is usually the case in life, it's all about power. Most managers don't like it when someone has too much power based on their knowledge. These managers can't play at this level, and they don't like it one bit.
My new morning driving routine involves chatting with ChatGPT through my car speaker/Airplay, as if I were hanging on the phone with my mum.
For those who missed it: OpenAI recently added synthetic voices to the ChatGPT app allowing you to have voice conversations with its Large Language Model (LLM).
Like most people, I have an inner voice that has always been crucial in reframing and refining many of my ideas, similar to how dreaming helps us process certain emotions.
But sometimes you just wanna share your unhinged thoughts with a friend—though, maybe not at 7 in the morning 😂
So, when OpenAI rolled out this feature a few weeks back, I found the perfect solution to my problem and, incidentally, a creative way of surviving the drudgery that is Belgian traffic jams 🫠.
Anthropomorphism, breathing human elements into non-human entities like AI or animals, has recently been a big topic of debate.
While everyone knows AI lacks consciousness, we still can’t help ourselves anthropomorphizing it in our interactions.
I mean, who hasn’t caught themselves saying “Thank you” to ChatGPT when it’s given you a really good answer? 🙏🏼
Hell, you even have people feeling depressed because their favorite chatbot tool got shut down.
A guy in Belgium even committed suicide a while back because an LLM told him his death would fix climate change…
This may be an extreme example, but I don’t think many people realize the profound impact of AI on the nature of conversations, relationships, and communities.
Although I’m quite sure AI will not replace actual human interactions, I do believe it will create new types of “in-between” relationships where people don’t mind talking with an algorithm programmed to say what they want to hear.
I have no idea what the next big social media trend will be, but you can bet it will involve cringing at the AI equivalent of Facebook Boomer posts! ✌🏽
@redstreamnet @yanisvaroufakis@DiEM_25 No one should presume to solve a challenge in this way, it is a spiral of horror - without end. Hunger for power (Balfour Declaration, Sykes-Picot...) combined with religions are the biggest mass murderer. Maybe we need an worldwide inutition to put such guys on the moon/mars.
