@RealGreyMage My experience with FLGS is that you basically have to have them sign a contract at gunpoint on your first meeting. Otherwise, they flake out, forget you exist, and never return your calls, then piss and moan about how "it's so hard to get a DM to run events."

@TheDMLair Solo play isn't appreciably different than the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books or Joe Dever's "Lone Wolf" and "Freeway Warrior" series. If anything, they introduced the notion to people without the Satanic Panic baggage of "D&D" at the time.
