🧵 sobre contaminación descontrolada desde la Mina de Aznalcollar #Sevilla
El contraembalse de Aznalcollar tiene ahora las aguas turquesas. Las lluvias han transportado metales disueltos desde escombreras mineras ->
The European Commission has just made it clear that the rigid constraints they had placed on public finance were totally artificial. They have now lifted them to enable massive military production.
The EC could have done the same thing to achieve rapid decarbonization and ensure good housing, healthcare, and public transit for all. They could have abolished deprivation, unemployment and economic insecurity. But they did not.
This exposes an extraordinary betrayal. It reveals that the European working classes have been lied to, over and over.
The European Commission has suppressed production of public services, not because it has been fiscally necessary to do so, but because it ensures the conditions for capital accumulation.
Farmers worldwide spend billions annually on potassium fertilizers that may actually REDUCE crop access to this essential nutrient.
This counterintuitive finding from University of Illinois research challenges decades of conventional agricultural practice.
A quick summary:
Esto es lo que va a pasar:
Falso. No lo quiere hacer de manera individual. Si, de manera colectiva

Slum shacks for agricultural workers in Níjar next to greenhouses. Many sweat under the plastic of Almería for 3-5 euros an hour to keep our vegetables from Barcelona to Birmingham nice and cheap, 📷Ignacio Marín

Llevo días rumiando un hilo sobre la estafa del reciclaje en este país y la mafia que es Ecoemb€s.
Finalmente, gracias al apoyo externo voy a hacerlo, ya que yo no tengo visibilidad suficiente.

Yet another study (unfortunately from Oxford) highlighting the dangers of poor scholarship, ecological illiteracy and in this case narrow poorly designed research concerning the problem of global desertification and climate change.
As I stated in the Oxford debate with @GeorgeMonbiot recently "Even is soil could sequester no carbon, cattle put out 20X the methane they do and every every human became vegan and we never ate another animal," how would such narrowly trained scientists reverse desertification (sending water and carbon into the atmosphere) without livestock - using only fire and technology as such researchers and Monbiot believe can be done?
We would still need to address the cause of climate change and that will require Millions more goats, cattle, sheep and wild herbivores to reverse desertification even if we left all of them to die "naturally" and brutally of starvation, disease, accident or if lucky more humanely in the gentle jaws of a crocodile, wolf or lion. All animals do die and in nature that is how 99% die, not peacefully in their sleep.

No one is to blame for an educational system leading to such shoddy work and danger to humanity. In his best seller "Voltaire's Bastards" John Ralston Saul laid it out quite well and I quote “The reality is that the division of knowledge into feudal fiefdoms of expertise has made general understanding and coordinated action not simply impossible but despised and distrusted.”
“In many ways the differences between various languages today are less profound than the differences between the professional dialects within each language. Any reasonably diligent person can learn one or two extra tongues. But the dialect of the accountant, doctor, political scientist, economist, literary historian or bureaucrat is available only to those who become one".
We simply have to move beyond this and quickly if we are not to self-destruct. Frankly I hate ever being a critic knowing everyone is doing their best and good and that is why I suggested a constructive way forward two years ago at COP26 ( https://t.co/nutCt5ET1T )
Few Europeans have heard of it but there's a lobby group in Brussels that holds sway over the future of food, farms & nature. We dug deep into Copa-Cogeca to find a Brussels bully that's bleeding support among farmers 🧵
@profugo1922 Mucho promover la excelencia científica pero luego los investigadores autóctonos tienen los recursos y estabilidad justa para irse a la empresa privada o fuera de la comunidad/país.
