Hoy queremos recordar a Nagore Laffage.
Forcejearon. Ella intentó huir e incluso llamó a Emergencias.
Album Review for Light-Years by Nas & DJ Premier
Let’s just rip the bandage off… even Nas couldn’t save this project. Yes, we know that Nas has one of the most elite pens in Hip Hop. However, there’s a such thing as an expiration date on producers. The album sounds like a a bunch of unreleased verses to beats that weren’t initially made for them.
The boom bap, NYC sound is created and implemented but it’s not done correctly and it makes it difficult to really enjoy the entire project. Nas completely bars up most of these tracks, has a solid ability to tell meaningful stories that allow a listener to lock in and really digest everything being said within the track.
Outside of Nas’ masterful lyrics, it’s put to production that just doesn’t fit. The production doesn’t make sense. For a legend like Premier, he’s able to do much better and it just feels like a lazy attempt to make a nostalgic project.
While I understand the hype for both these guys, there’s nothing worse than listening to an album that has great lyrics mediocre beats. There’s no real reason to go back to it. Unfortunately it’s just too many skips.
Final Score: 4.5/10
"After @WHOISCONWAY performed... Hov called him over to the side of the stage, Conway is wiping tears out his eyes & tells Hov, 'Yo, my bad that I’m crying & shit.' Hov was like, 'Nah, that’s good. That’s that emotion...”
