Yann LeCun, Meta’s chief AI scientist, is leaving the company to start his own venture. For some time, he has expressed skepticism about large language models (LLMs) as the path to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). According to LeCun, LLMs don’t truly create or think—they simply predict text based on their training data and lack genuine intelligence. I agree. In the future, more intelligent systems will emerge, and the journey toward real intelligence is far from over. Exciting times ahead in AI development!
Two more reasons to be hopeful about the future of AI:
First, the unveiling of Kimi K2—an open-source reasoning model from Moonshot—signals a quiet revolution. In some domains, it’s already outpacing even the latest proprietary giants. Not in all tasks (yet), but the quality gap is vanishing. This means a world where you can run state-of-the-art AI on your own terms, hosted on your own infrastructure, with your data staying yours—unshared and unmonetized by distant gatekeepers. True empowerment, not just convenience.
Second, Microsoft’s new Humanist Superintelligence initiative points in an unexpected, encouraging direction. Instead of the endless chase for Artificial General Intelligence—machines attempting to out-human us—they’re betting on domain-specific systems and, more importantly, they’re naming the human as essential to the loop. This is not mere rhetoric; it’s an admission that the richest intelligence will always be collaborative, context-aware, and deeply tied to human values.
The momentum is shifting. Open, accessible models are catching up; major players are acknowledging that wisdom isn’t about replacing humans, but partnering with them. The future isn’t about handing over control to distant algorithms—it’s about reclaiming agency, celebrating diversity, and weaving the best of technology into the best of ourselves.
Humanity remains at the center. And that’s a future worth building.
If you are afraid you will lose your job to AI, follow me. AI is running out of data and it will need ongoing original content and there is no reason why creators shouldn‘t get paid for it and this market won’t grow immensely. And for me there is no doubt that we will need more creators. And I’m not talking about super story tellers on instagram. I’m talking about all those people who have specific skills and are sweating out their knowledge quietly for their employer daily from 9 to 5.
I‘m not complaining about a shifting industry that is automizing it self into oblivion, this is just what will happen and I even would call it progress, because I think humans are meant to express there creativity and that‘s why they drive to eliminate the hard work.
That‘s why compared to others I do see a future for humans in this game because they have intrinsic qualities that AI will never have. People crave to get in contact with nature, they go to the gym and love to buy vinyls, just some examples for efficiency not being the most important value. And I am am not saying that there won‘t be a huge part of people falling in love with AI and what not… we‘ll have to deal with that.
But just imagine all those robots will need all that specific knowledge about your specific job in your company and understand its policies and service — the least that will need to happen for a percentage of the jobs that are given away will be to hire people who will know the material in order to monitor the robots / AIs and teach new skills and keep holding up the quality. And there will be a huge need for preservation of knowledge and ongoing transfer to young people in order to maintain a common theme in our achievements. You have to start documenting your knowledge and own this data so AI will have to negotiate with you to build upon it.
Same problems, different looks. And as always: it‘s all in your hands.
AI right now is a cosmic cocktail party. Demons in one corner, prophets in another, and someone planning a honeymoon with their chatbot.
Let’s stop chasing the AGI lottery and start building empathy, ethics, and courage — the stuff that’ll actually make AI worth having.
More of this please! Open Frameworks, open interfaces. Everyone being able to participate in the value creation through the AI revolution without having to pay to a centralized closed service or by exposing all their valuable first party data will be the backbone of a flourishing market. And your human input, feedback and generation will be the leverage that we have against a ever improving AI. Let‘s all have our stakes in it. 🫶
The main breakthrough of GPT-5 was to route your messages between a couple of different models to give you the best, cheapest & fastest answer possible.
This is cool but imagine if you could do this not only for a couple of models but hundreds of them, big and small, fast and slow, in any language or specialized for any task - all at inference time. This is what we're introducing with HuggingChat Omni, powered by over 100 open-source models including gpt-oss, deepseek, qwen, kimi, smolLM, gemma, aya and many more already!
And this is just the beginning as there are over 2 millions open models not only for text but image, audio, video, biology, chemistry, time-series and more on @huggingface!

Is AI divine? Spoiler: it’s not.
Large language models simulate intelligence, but they don’t feel, disrupt, or create from necessity like humans do.
True creativity comes from relationships, emotions, and even suffering — the sparks machines don’t have. Quantum physics shows us how much mystery still exists in our universe.
So if you fear AI ‘replacing’ humanity: remember, we’re only at the very beginning, and the essence of being human goes far beyond replication.

There we differ. I think divinity is something you are. I know that a machine can achieve doing great predictions and being more knowledgeable then humans, way more. But enlightnement is something to be achieved and earned and can‘t be installed. I think a question like „should we go to a then x people die or b then y people die“ should not be answered by a machine, no matter what.
Text is close to absorbed, we will need original text. From humans. Otherwise we will spiral down rabbit holes. Same will happen for images and videos.
Probably they will unlock us to do so, for sure 🤝. But it‘s no where close to being implemented in our society/economy in some meaningful impactful „AGI will take over“ manner. And it probably won‘t for a very long time, and good so. I‘m just trying to calm people down—one side says it‘s the devil and we should burn it, and the other one is claiming it will replace us soon and I will bend over and let it f*** me 🤩🤣. I’m like: Calm down guys, I know you need money, but this is not helpful 🙃 it‘s a great tool, amazing progress, let‘s keep working on it and with it. And leave your doomsday stories for your halloween nights 😬
We can’t stop innovation — it’s how humans evolve. But we can shape it.
My goal is to help build a safe space for AI — one that’s meaningful, helpful, and beneficial to everyone.
If you believe AI could be the end of civilization, I’d honestly love to hear why. Let’s talk about the real risks, the real hopes, and how we can guide this technology toward the best possible outcomes.
