PROPERTY TAXES IN AMERICA HAVE GONE TOO FAR THE HOUSE IS PAID OFF. SO WHY DOES THE BILL NEVER END?
My parents finished paying off their mortgage back in 2007.
They’re both in their 70s now.
No mortgage payment. No lender.
Yet they still have to send the county roughly $10,500 every year just to keep living in the home they already paid for.
That’s almost $875 a month.

You can finish the mortgage, but you never really finish paying for the right to stay there.
That feels backwards.

Fascinating.
